For a family of 5, it is not cheap. $8 per kid & $10 per adult. What you get is a really nice play set by the museum and a nice display of stuffed animals in the museum. All were hunted by the owner, Jim Mazzarelli. From there you drive around the property to see animals in different areas. This can be hit or miss, last year we saw very little of the animals. This year they were all over and close to the fence. The petting zoo is located by the front, mostly goats with one baby deer. You can buy feed for a $1 per cup or a bottle of "milk" for $3. Kids loved feeding the goats, get the bottle it was worth it! All told nice stop if you have never been, but not worth a second visit.

Brought a group of Senior Citizens for a visit. Immediately at the entrance gate, the owner of the property was very gruff and unkind to our group, insisting we pay the entrance fee for our bus driver.

We were not impressed with the "exotic" wildlife that we saw driving through. There were mostly miniature horses and canadian geese!

Once inside the "museum", it was impressive I must admit, but also creepy when we learned from a staff member that the owner had hunted almost every single animal displayed. Also, while in the "museum" the owner once again had unkind words with our bus driver, over her parking "abilities".

While it is quite possible for a young family to enjoy a few hours here, you can be sure that no one, absolutely NO ONE in our group will return for a second visit.

While staying in Torrington we had some extra time and some local acquaintances recommended Action Wildlife. What a surprise. Not what we expected to find in the middle of CT. Game farm, petting zoo and a museum of exotic wildlife. The web site is very accurate. You can get very close to all of the animals. The petting zoo is a delight. And there were no crowds on a recent Sunday. Depending on how much you want to walk or drive, you can spend 2 hrs to half a day, and perhaps more. Bring lunch. Beverages are available.

It is a great place to take the family. There is a picnic area if want to bring your own.
