Not a glamorous resort but very good value at a reasonable price. The room was a little dated but very clean and much larger than expected. It included a full kitchen. The king-sized bed was very comfortable, although it needed a fourth pillow. Air-conditioner, large screen TV and WIFI all worked well. Full breakfast, with outstanding service, was included in the price.

THIS IS NOT A 4 STAR PLACE! We in with my family and kids, two drunk people making out by the front door. Drunk people everywhere. The rooms are worth the rate they are asking. The whole place smells musty. The DaysInn & suits across the street would be better.

While the building and rooms are aging and could use new carpets & etc., everything we encountered in our room & elsewhere was quite clean. Our room was large and comfortable. The breakfast was better than what is usually offered, and the restaurant & bar were convenient and a nice service to have in-house. In this area of Connecticut, we have often paid more and gotten less, so I would recommend the Groton Inn for travelers looking for value.

We stayed here for a wedding over Memorial Day weekend.
Cons: First of all, the room was small with creaky floors, thin walls, and a dirty comforter. The bathroom was super small. Our toilet had a problem on the first day where it was running. My boyfriend and I were all dressed up for the rehearsal dinner, so we didn't want to mess with the toilet, and called down. They assured me that someone would be right up. 30 minutes later we had to leave, and it was still running. I called again and she said that it would be fixed by the end of the night. We returned 5 hours later, and the toilet was STILL running. I called down for a third time. The front desk girl came up herself and fixed it for us. Unfortunately, it wasn't a permanent fix. But, we were able to do it ourselves the rest of the times.
Pros: It came with a fridge and toaster oven. Location is good. Free parking. Breakfast coupons.

We stayed one night after seeing Bruce Springsteen at Mohegan Sun. The room was quite large. Bathroom was tiny and the shower will give you trouble if you are tall...I'm 5-foot-7 and I had to duck under the shower head.

Other than that the hotel was decent enough. No frills but a decent size mini-fridge in the room and a microwave; also 2 TVs. Not the prettiest room you'll ever stay in, but a good value and a good room.

I would give it 3 or 3.5 stars.

We stayed at this hotel as part of a Navy reunion. A contract for our meeting was signed more than a year ago and hardly any pieces of the contract were honored. Hospitality room wad promised for 75 or more - instead we were crammed into a room that held less than 20 while the room promised was set up for a bunch of corporate types.

The reunion organizer was to have a site on first floor -his wife has trouble with stairs - instead they were put in a small room on second floor - this hotel has no elevator.

The men being honored at this reunion all served our country during war time and should have been treated as royalty instead of like second-class citizens. The hotel staff acted like they didn't want us there.

The hotel itself is in shoddy shape. Guest room carpets are disgusting - had to purchase slippers because we didn't dare walk in the room in bare feet. Public areas are small and shoddy. No way to make a good impression.

I would never recommend this hotel to anyone - but especially because of the way they treated these fine military men. They came from as far away as Japan, Alaska, California, Oregon and states from coast to coast. They should have been honored guests.
