Our second visit to the Westbourne with our two young grandchildren. Once again, we had the Family Room (Bute), which has the most amazing view! The room is grand - befitting the period of the house- but still "family friendly". Everything is clean and comfortable and the hosts, Stu and Jane, are corteous, helpful and yet discreet (it feels as if you have the house to yourselves).
Breakfast is cooked to your prefernce and is delicious and filling. There is ample car-parking and the house is within easy walking distance of the little town of Millport, with a splendid play-park on route for the children.
Millport itself is a jewel in the crown of Scotland. Time has stood still, with the bicycle having precedence over the motor car. There are plenty of little shops with quality local crafts plus the usual buckets, spades and fishing nets (a must for the rock-pools!) and planty of places to eat. We liked Minstrels for dinner and The Ritz cafe for ice-cream and coffees.

Room Tip: I'm sure all rooms have their own benefits. The family room is superb.

This was my sixth stay at Westbourne, this time visiting with my mother, to an island where our family have been coming to for over seventy years!
While the weather on the mainland was poor we managed two days of fine weather in this little 'micro climate' in south west Ayrshire.
The hard work, superb breakfast and warmth of Stuart&Jane's welcome, accompanied by the phenominal views, from our first floor bedroom, ensure that your stay on the island is guaranteed to light up your short break with lots of great memories.....even when this is a repeat visit.
We are already planning our next trip in October and know that there is no where else we would rather stay than Westbourne House!!

Room Tip: Sea facing Arran or Bute are fantastic but so to are all the rooms.Large sofa at the bay window to t...

If you are looking for a fabulous place to stay while you are visiting Millport you would be hard pressed to find a better place than the Westbourne. This is my fourth visit. Says it all really. The hosts Stu and Jane are one of the nicest couples you could wish to meet and nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast was brilliant as usual and cooked by Stu's own fair hand - ably assisted by his good lady wife.
A warm welcome awaits - dont sit there and wonder.......check it out for yourselves. You will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: If its views you are after try and get the front rooms. Having said that there are good views from t...

We enjoyed a first floor room with a wonderful view. The room itself was spacious and well decorated to match the period of the house. A good sized ensuite with quality towels and toiletries added to it's appeal. Wifi was excellent as was the breakfast served each day. Stuart was an excellent host to cap off what was a great stay.

Stuart and Jane are terrific hosts. The house itself is beautiful and our room was spotlessly clean and welcoming with the most amazing views. Breakfast was superb and nothing was too much trouble. A very relaxing and enjoyable weekend; we look forward to returning later in the year.

Room Tip: The views from the two front-facing rooms are amazing.

We visit Millport for a short break twice a year usually and the only place to stay is Westbourne House. The rooms are beautiful - bright airy and extremely clean with the best views imaginable! The breakfast is amazing and Stuart and Jane are lovely friendly hosts who make you feel extremely welcome. We just LOVE IT
