I spent three days at this hotel for a business trip. It is on the national register of historic places and is very conveniently located in downtown Hartford. It is within walking distance to most large companies and has two restaurants attached, one more low key (City Steam) and one a bit more up scale (Bocca Rossa). The rooms are quite unique. I had a studio loft which was basically two story and was very spacious. There is a full kitchen which would be excellent for a longer stay. The hotel will grocery shop for you if you are staying for an extended stay. The staff is very accommodating and clearly they cater to the business traveler. That is not to say it would not be a good place for someone traveling for pleasure as well. Everyone greeted us with a smile every day, no matter what time of day we came through the lobby. A free hot breakfast is offered every day. The staff member working the dining area for breakfast each day should be commended. I didn't see her name but she clearly took pride in making sure the buffet was kept full of hot food and everthing was kept cleaned up. She was very friendly to all of the guests. Parking is convenient as well. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to downtown Hartford, whether it be a long or short stay.

Room Tip: I understand all the rooms are unique. I had a loft and it was very large and very nice.

This Marriott hotel in the heart of Hartford is amazing. Surrounded by office buildings and restaurants, the hotel has its own parking lot and some unbelievable rooms. There are rooms, that could easily be apratments, with lofts. The hotel is in the midst of renovations, but you would hardly notice it. The hotel is expertly managed, the staff is friendly and very accomodating, and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Bill Marriott would be very happy! This should be a must stay for those visiting Hartford and the Business Traveler. True to Marriott residence Inn tradition, breakfast is complimentary and there are nights where free dinner is served. The hotel is very clean and kept up to date, including free Wi-Fi and access to a in-house health club. Will definitely be back here!

Lone6star, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at our hotel. Such a great review from a Top Contributor, like yourself, means a lot to our hotel and staff.

As you mentioned, we are undergoing a renovation and have focused on making it as easy on our guests as possible. We are anxious for our renovation to be complete and to show off our lobby transformation. We think that it will enhance a hotel and staff we are already very proud of.

We look forward to having you stay with us again in the future and will share your review with our staff.

Regards,

The staff is so friendly and accommodating, especially Kadeen! He always greeted me with a big smile and took care of anything I needed. My only complaint is the loud street noise. I was woken up several times.

Thank you for your review HartfordTraveler26, We are grateful that you chose to stay with us while staying in Hartford and appreciate your great feedback about Kadeen. We are very lucky to have him on our staff and will be sure to share your comments with him.

We love our downtown location and all it has to offer, but we understand that this can sometimes be the cause of a little additional street noise. We hope that you stay with us again so that we can find a more suitable room for you. We do offer several different room locations and I am sure we could find one that would be perfect for you.

Kind Regards,

An apartment like setting for the night. This place is pretty cool, has the typical Marriott Residence Inn kitchen and living room but the bedrooms are a loft, go up a few stairs and it overlooks the living room. WoW!! Talk about something different, especially in a nice spot within walking distance of a lot of nice bars in Hartford. Definitely going back!!

Who ever thought you would find loft hotel rooms in a city? This is an exceptionally clean, comfortable and somewhat unusual hotel. There really are loft bedrooms. We were more than pleasantly surprised by the room (which was HUGE) and the dinning/kitchen area. IF I had a complaint it would be that the bathroom is not much larger than a postage stamp. Okay, there is my complaint. But if you are looking for an exceptionally comfortable room for a night or a few nights in downtown Hartford and want SPACE to stretch out-and possibly even cook a meal then this is the place.

The breakfast is typical Marriott fare. Eggs sausage and the rest of the usual. The front desk staff are polite and efficient.

We would stay here again.

Room Tip: Just make sure you get the loft room.

Steven K,

Thank you for choosing the Residence Inn Hartford and for taking the time to write a review of your stay with us. Our rooms are often a pleasant surprise to our first time guests based on the amount of space they have to spread out. To enhance our exceptional staff and unique hotel rooms we are currently undergoing a renovation of our entire hotel which should be completed in the spring. We hope to see you again soon for a return trip to Hartford so you can enjoy one our newly renovated rooms.

Best Wishes,
