4 mums went for a weekend break to celebrate a birthday.
If you want a shiny 5* spa full of stick-thin women then like another reviewer says, it's not the place for you. However, if you want to feel comfortable, chilled out and are happy to lounge on sofas and walk in the garden, you will love it.
The treatments were just gorgeous. I've been to South India and these were a more 'Western' and sanitised version of ayurveda, but nevertheless authentic and administered by very kind and practised Indian staff.
The pool is a bit small - better for a bob around in the warm water rather than a swim - but nice for a dip and it was really warm. The treatments would be the reason to visit the spa rather than the pool.
We stayed overnight in the 2 bed and breakfast rooms. At 5pm the staff left us with the keys and we had the whole place to ourselves. What an amazing treat ! We sat on the deck, watched the pond and drank champagne, before walking to the fab local pub and having a great dinner. (Duke William pub in Ickham).
Very quiet, homely, comfortable and will DEFINITELY be back.
