an institution in Kent - the Villager - food was historically ok, but new ownership has added a bit of spice to the burger and fries. but at the end of the day it about the history and the environment - center of town and center of what is going on

“One of our favourites”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 September 2013

My husband and I go to this restaurant for lunch at least once per week. We love the food and service. The Fish Tacos are the best, but not always on the menu. The Mexican Garden Burger and the Veggie Quesadia are my most favourites. The only comment we have is that when it gets busy, the noise level is very loud and not pleasant, that's when we try to sit outside.

“Good lunch, service not so good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 September 2013 via mobile

Stopped in with the kids for lunch. Delicious sandwiches, good fries although the bread was a little old. Didnt see a separate menu for kids. The service was not too friendly which is unusual for a restaurant that appears to cater to tourists. Also has a good selection of Mexican food along with traditional diner fare.

“Just what we needed”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 August 2013

The food is good, and what I expected. Crispy fries, a decent reuben, my kids liked their meals and service was right there. The chicken wrap got good reviews from my friend too.

Street-side tables are nice; the inside looked a bit dark, but otherwise fine.

“The Old Standby”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 August 2013

Delicious breakfast food and sandwiches for lunch. The classic Kent diner. You might have to wait for a table, especially one outside. The only greasy spoon in town. For nicer brunch food and booze, go to Kingsley Tavern right down the street.
