“A Lovely Valentine's Day & Night”
Reviewed 27 February 2014

I traveled with my husband here for Valentine's Day, and it was all we expected and more for our Valentine's Day Evening. The owners are nice and flexible. The place is soo cozy, and the rooms are gorgeous. We definitely want to stay again and try a different room. We are soo curious! The inn is like a travel in time to New England's past but with all the amenities and comforts of today. Breakfast is also to die for... we'd come back just for the breakfast. Totally recommend this Inn for your romantic escapades...

Room Tip: Next time we want to try one of the rooms with a Jacuzzi

This place is the coziest, most welcoming place I stay at in my business travels! Great town to go with it. The breakfast is worth its weight in gold. Always special….don't miss it if you book a stay.

My husband , myself, and our two dogs spent one lovely night in this beautiful Inn. It was right in the center of town and very close by to the family we were visiting. We had a wonderful room with an outdoor entrance which was perfect for our pets. The bed was comfortable ( a big deal to us) and the room was warm and inviting. Our breakfast was delicious. After waking up, we were greeted by a perfect cup of coffee and superb pumpkin bread. Shorty after that, we had a very fine breakfast prepared by Michael. Everything made for a great stay. We would happiy stay there again.

Room Tip: Our room on the first floor had a great outside entrance. This was perfect for our care of our dog...

My husband and I have been coming to Madison, CT for over 25 years but never knew this bed and breakfast existed on Boston Post Road. This Christmas when planning a family reunion Christmas celebration in Madison, we were looking for somewhere to stay since the family home would be filled with 18 people. I saw recommendation on trip advisor and booked a reservation. The Inn was a wonderful placed to escape the not stop activity going on at the family house. The room was cozy, and having our own bathroom with shower made it intimate. The house was built in the 1800's, but you would never know it other than the antiques and beautiful restored hard wood floors. Every morning we looked forwards to Michael's production of breakfast. At 8:30am, every morning there was tea and coffee put out with some type of delicious scone, quick bread, or muffin. This was then followed by a full breakfast at 9am. Definitely a place I would recommend to explore this cute little New England village on the green

Room Tip: Inn does have a couple rooms that they allow pets. Ask Michael if they are available.

We stayed here recently. It was a nice place with warm hospitality. The breakfast was good – waffles, yogurt parfaits and assorted breads. – Yea, not the most well balanced from a nutrition standpoint, but tasted good. Also, the facility is old, but clean and well maintained, so the charm factor is there. The location is great; walking distance to shops, restaurants and the water.

We will definitely stay here again.

We had a lovely weekend stay here recently. Our room was spacious, clean, relaxing, with a very comfortable bed. And the inn itself has a wonderful welcoming feel and is decorated with great seasonal style. (During October, Halloween was definitely the theme for all the businesses in Madison!) I can imagine that the Scranton Seahorse Inn would be stunning during the Christmas season! Michael is an excellent host and served delicious breakfasts. Indeed, his breakfasts were certainly a highlight of the weekend. If I could make one suggestion, it would be to have a box of kleenex in the room or bathroom -we did miss this. (If there was kleenex, we couldn't find it.) The location is great - adjacent to some lovely shops in Madison. Overall, an excellent stay!

Room Tip: We had a very spacious room with a jacuzzi.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. We love getting the inn ready for all holidays but fall and Halloween happen to be our favorite. So happy to hear you enjoyed it. We do put kleenex is every room but if we missed yours we apologize. Hope to see you in the future. Our Christmas tree is spectacular!

This place will exceed every expectation! Our stay included having our wedding at the Inn. Michael made sure our day and stay was fabulous. We enjoyed the special breakfast each morning and the pleasant conversation. Michael knows the area and is willing to share fresh ideas on anything you ask of him. The Inn was nicely decorated and cared for by Michael and his Mom:) we have stayed at Bed and Breakfasts in many locations and this is the best.
