Not usually a B&B person and this was a fantastic experience. Victoria was gracious and knowledgeable about the area. Stayed for 2 nights with my sister and we had a great time. Our room (2 twin beds) was well laid out and even the sink being in the room (and not in the ensuite bathroom) turned out to be very convenient. We used the beach passes to visit the town beach which had amenities. Victoria provided beach chairs and towels as well. We loved the breakfast as well as the home baked goods and coffee that were available all day. Great experience, will return.

Room Tip: friend stayed downstairs and said she could hear people moving around upstairs. Reminded her of her...

Just returned from a delightful 3-night stay! Victoria made note when I reserved that it was my birthday, and welcomed us with a red velvet birthday cake festively presented in a basket with party noisemaker & balloon. She also supplied other niceties, such as a basket of snacks, and cold drinks in the fridge. Our room (the Madison Suite) was huge and comfortable with plenty of tables and seating. All the linens were particularly fluffy and posh. The breakfasts were generous and delicious, employing local fruit and maple syrup and other special touches. There are beach parking passes, beach towels and chairs to borrow. Each night Victoria invites all the guests to join her for a complimentary glass of wine and lovely snacks. We have stayed in many B&Bs around the US and in other countries, and Tidewater compared quite favorably. We would certainly recommend it to others, and hope to visit again ourselves.

We live in the city but were going to Madison to see the summer opera production. We stayed at The Tidewater because it was part of the package we had purchased at a charity auction. Now we are investigating reasons to return! The Inn is adorable and quaint and lovely but the real charm is the owner. Victoria goes out of her way to make you comfortable, accommodate every dietary need possible, and in the process make you feel like a revered guest. The rooms were comfortable and the amenities provided were first class. even the towels felt special! It was a lovely weekend!

I brought my wife here for her birthday
a beautiful bed and breakfast
we stayed in the cottage
very very cozy and clean
loved the hot tube and king bed
Victoria had incredible gardens all around the property
and the breakfast was superb and a real treat
and fresh with amazing ingredients
Victoria was spot on for dinner suggestions
my wife and I will come back

Visited friends in the area and stayed two nights at the lovely property. The Host, Victoria has designed the property for elegance and comfort. Each room is different, the bed was comfortable, the bath included all the amenities and even had bathrobes for our use. There was wine and crackers in the evening (or soft drinks) and the most delicious breakfasts. If you are in the area this is the perfect place to stay.

We've stopped in CT many times on our way from MD to Maine. We enjoyed Tidewater Inn and Madison so much, we decided to spend more time there this trip. Innkeeper Victoria offers everything to make her visitors' stay more comfortable and enjoyable--including chairs/umbrellas and passes for the private beaches, every toiletry imaginable (which was great since I forgot my makeup remover), water & sodas, and snacks for late-night hunger. The gourmet breakfasts were amazing, and always included a course of fruit prepared exquisitely, something baked that morning, and a hot entree. I'm going to beg for her stuffed French toast recipe. The wine & cheese hour was a great opportunity to take advantage of her concierge guidance. Her recommendations on restaurants were right on. I could go on and on, but you need to see for yourself.

Normally, we don't stay at B&B places. However for a short vacation, we opted to stay at the Tidewater Inn. This was a wise choice. Normally, we experienced B&B places serving continental breakfasts with stale rolls and out dated muffins. Not so at the Tidewater. Each morning, Victoria would cook us eggs, sausages, french toast, etc to the point where our diets were out the window onto Boston Post Road. The rooms were expertly appointed, but our Madison suite was a little noisy from US#1 traffic. When we return, we'll select a room at the rear of the facility. If you like flowers, be sure to check out the various flower arrangements both on the outside grounds and inside the major rooms.

Room Tip: The rooms at the rear of the Tidewater Inn are quieter.
