Our BandB host alerted us hat Wednesday was the one night this event takes place. And what an event. A great choice of Asian, Hawaiiian and other specialties made to order at the many food booths. And many jewelry and clothing booths too.
The locals that flock here reminded me of Haight Ashbury in the sixties.a very menorAble experience.

The Wed night market at Uncles was a lot of fun, even in the rain. Great music! Many vendors with very good food and interesting crafts.

Uncle Robert's is an institution at the end of the roads at Kalapana. There's always kava (awa) and food available, and on Wednesday night, there's a big gathering of Puna society for live music, food, some produce on sale, and various trinkets and whatnot in a number of booths. It's seriously overhyped, but it's an interesting slice of the life of this highly individualistic and free-form part of the island.

Stopped here on a Wednesday. Wonderful music and a great atmosphere of Hawaii ......arts and crafts of local jewelry, tie dye shirts, and tasty candy. Friendly people and a fun event....pizza is a steal and seafood crepes can be found in the back.
