We didn't stay at the 'Feathers' but booked a lunch for a family get together. The quality of the meal was excellent, reasonably priced and not one of us was disappointed with our meal, quite delicious! The pub was warm and comfortable, with some snug semi separate areas with leather sofas. There is a bright spacious conservatory and outside in the summer there is a maize maze for the kids. Plenty of parking. The staff were friendly and efficient and we will definitely be going back again. We didn't see the rooms but I wouldn't hesitate to book one on the strength of the public rooms and food!

Fantastic rooms. Very clean and tastefully furnished. Very comfortable and roomy beds.

Superb 5* breakfast served in great surroundings.

Evening food had lots of lovely choices and was delicious.

Cannot recommend this place highly enough!

stayed here end august. booked last minute and surprised that they still had availability. very helpful on the phone and we arrived very late left the lights on for us so we could find the rooms.

the rooms are gorgeous lovely wooden floors, nice bathroom, little flat screen tv, comfy beds and pillows and wifi was very impressed and its very reasonably priced we paid about £150 for the 2 rooms per night (3 people and 2 dogs that were free)

the rooms that we had (the lookout and hayloft) were perfect as they were 2 rooms in one block with private lobby that both room doors opened onto. so we could keep these doors open and feel like we had a little apartment and the close the doors and have privacy too. the hayloft was quite small and only a small window with no view but the lookout had a lovely huge window with view of trees - only thing be careful when you get out the shower someone in the carpark could catch a glimpse!

breakfast was in the conservatory which looks brand new and its very nice. the coffee was good and food (full english - lots of other stuff to chose from too) very nice too. service was friendly but VERY slow on all 2 occasions we ate there. staff are ok depending who you get but more like bar staff than hotel/friendly b&b staff.

in the day light the paths and the gardens looked a little shabby but it wasn't an issue for me personally. the hen house suite looked lovely from the outside (the other room we had considered) but there were 2 other rooms under ours that faced the back of the pub overlooking the bins etc i wouldnt like to have stayed in these.

one major disappointment was dinner was awful and took ages to arrive. was relatively expensive so would have expected more (£11 for a main course) wish we had eaten somewhere else. only good thing was that we ate in the pub and they let dogs in the bar area so that was nice to not have to leave them in the room.

the village is pretty but there are no other pubs or shops, not even to buy a news paper the nearest place is a petrol station. its location though as about 30 seconds from the a30 so can get around by car very easily. the beached - mawgan porth, watergate bay etc are about 20 mins drive away (with traffic).

would def recommend just for the rooms alone but would warn people not to eat there (except breakfast which is included in the price anyway) Also they over charged us £80 which we noticed just before we paid so make sure you check your bill.

Stayed here for 4 nights at the end of the summer after a friend's recommendation. We weren't that impressed when we arrived at it was in the middle of nowhere, we were hoping for more choice (at least another pub!). It meant we had to drive everywhere in the evening which was annoying. That said, it was a great pub, with great food and breakfast (although quite expensive) and a fun pub quiz on Tuesday nights which fills the place. Our room was small, and in my opinion not really worth the money (£100 a night) - I've stayed in much bigger rooms in better locations with far more surrounding it for much less. If you want my advice, stay in a bigger town like St Austell, Mevagissey or Fowey. Much more to see and more value for money.
