Since it was cold when we stayed, we did not get to enjoy the fact that the Inn is located right in the center of town with the shops or the fact that it is on the water with a little boardwalk. The water view, however, was nice. What we did not like about the Inn was that the room felt more like a hotel rather than a quaint, charming, cozy Bed and Breakfast. Also, the breakfast was very medicore and it was more like a lesser version of a breakfast at a Holdiay Inn Express. For what we were looking for, it was not to our liking, but it is a nice place if you are not looking for the ambiance of an authentic bed and breakfast.

I was in mystic on Feb 5 ,this town was really beautiful , peaceful & I was stay at the Steamboat Inn for a night , The location is very nice right next to the pier & it has a very nice view , but I guess in the summer might be a bit noisy because it's right next to the draw bridge. A very short walk to many shops & restaurant around . Another recommendation is the whaler's Inn although we didn't stay there but the outside look very nice & it look's like very well maintained & also very convinient to many places

We came to the Steamboat Inn to celebrate our anniversary with a lovely weekend getaway. Neither of us had been to Mystic before, and while I'm sure it is even nicer in the warm weather, it was quite lovely in December. The town obviously takes great pride in preserving its cute atmosphere. There are lots of boutique shops and small town establishments lining the main streets. All of them were decorated with lights for the holidays. The Steamboat Inn itself is nestled in the perfect location amidst the main part of the town. From there we were able to walk around town and we almost never needed our car.

We almost had to force ourselves to leave our room in the first place though. The inn itself was so lovely. Our room, called "Annie Wilcox", had a large bed, whirlpool tub and best of all: wood burning fireplace. The staff thoughtfuly prepared the fire for us each day so that all we had to do was light it. We enjoyed take some quiet time sitting in front of our fireplace and enjoying the view of the river from our room. Breakfast was included with the rooms. Not a full bacon and eggs breakfast, but quite nice: plenty of muffins, fruit, cereal, cheese. I believe the hard boiled eggs they served may have been a new offering. Our only possible complaint would be that breakfast is served only until 10am. But the lovely staff was nice enough to serve us even though we arrived quite late for breakfast.

I would definitely reccomend this inn and in fact, we're already looking forward to our own next trip back.

We just spent one night at Steamboat Inn during weekdays. Inn was kept up very well and staff members were very accommodating. All the rooms are open for viewing until either guest arrives or after 9:00pm. We stayed at Marie Gilbert (switched from Victoria after our arrival). Gilbert’s room was smaller but we liked the room setup better. Inn’s boat is docked right in front of the room…although it did not bother us, if you do not like it, I would recommend other rooms. All the rooms were very well appointed and their layout well thought-out. As someone else mentioned, breakfast can be improved…regular continental breakfast…but we would certainly like to come back again. I do not know why their ranking had sunken from #1 to #12 in a week…they should be ranked high.

Stayed here based on reviews on this website, it was a great find. Staff was very friendly. We stayed in room 7 right on the dock, has huge bathroom, with a 2 person whirlpool tub (which was very clean). Room has no fireplace, but plenty of huge windows to look out at the water. The person that checked us in, showed us other rooms and all looked very nice and clean. Will stay here again.
