This is a no frills hotel that was really cheap. Rooms were spacious and clean, could do with being updated but you do get free wifi and continental breakfast. It was pretty close to everything. Couldn't fault it really for the price!

This days inn was disgusting, dirty, dark and dingy. The only good experience is the front desk girls are very nice and pleasant but the rooms were dusty, rugs were stained and completely filthy, bathroom disgusting, we pulled down the comforter on the bed to find what appeared to be smeared and dried feces and we took it off the bed and the next morning they put it right back on. The dining area for breakfast was gross, they had premade omlets laying on an open tray in the refrigerator. The tv only had a few cable basic channels. Don't fall for the good price of the room because its not worth it !

People shouldn't expect high quality when they come to a Days Inn - it's a no frills, cheap hotel that provides basic amenities like free wifi and free Continental breakfast (which come with a fee at "nicer" hotels anyway). This Days Inn also has a pool (which I didn't try, but did look decent) and a tiny business center (business corner? computer in the corner of the lobby with a printer). The business center has free internet with free printing. This would be a premium at other hotels! So really, they provide a lot for free that fancier hotels would charge an arm and leg for.

Location-wise, it's on a road with many other housing options and food options around, and also quite convenient to attractions within Mystic. It's a 3 minute drive to the Olde Mystic Village and a 7 minute drive to the Mystic Seaport. Pretty convenient, in my opinion. Also, it's right off the highway which makes it great for easy in and out for your trip.

Now the rooms themselves are definitely nothing to write home about. Outdated style, dim and usually with an uninspiring view of the parking lot... The windows could have used a sheer layer to let in light without sacrificing privacy - as it was, they're single layer curtains which means you either let in natural light and let everyone see your business, or close the curtains and fumble around in the dim lighting that they provide. The sink is outside of the bathroom - which I actually like because then you can brush your teeth etc while someone else is showering.

The bed is fairly comfortable, with plenty of pillows and the typical motel sheeting with that "sheet/fleece layer/polyester coverlet" combo you cover yourself with. There was also a small sofa, which I didn't expect and was actually pretty nice. Outlet wise, they could have used a few more, but that may be because I travel with a lot of electronics.

My major complaint with the room was that the area around the air conditioner was wet... I tend to walk around barefoot and this was pretty disturbing to me. Luckily I also packed flipflops to avoid this, but still, quite disgusting.

The continental breakfast is pretty typical - coffee/tea/juice, breakfast cereals, bagels and other pastries. The waffle machines were very popular as well - so maybe get there earlier before the crowd descends after 9 to get food before it closes up at 10. They also have yogurt and cheese omelettes in the fridge. There were some short delays where milk had run out, waffle mix was out, etc, but they responded quickly to refill things and overall they kept it running smoothly.

Overall, I had a decent experience at this Days Inn, and I would recommend it for other budget travelers like myself!

....BUT VERY, VERY GOOD VALUE!! Stayed here four times over a period of years and it doesn't seem to change that much ! Yes, the rooms are a bit dated but have always found them clean and I have walked round in my bare feet. Likewise the beds , clean and extremely comfortable .Stayed in the spring ,the fall and now the summer and never had any complaints.......this is not a high end or boutique hotel but we find it very good value for the money ,usually pay around $50/60 a day . Pleasant outdoor pool with towels and sun loungers provided , again not Olympic standard but great for a splash about . A short drive or long walk to downtown Mystic but some restaurants and a diner nearby are walkable .(Have paid three and four times the price for a room of this quality elsewhere .) Flat screen TV , fridge ,safe and a quiet, upstairs room overlooking car park . Staff have always been friendly and helpful . Breakfast is adequate but can get crowded waiting for toaster and waffle machines......go early and take it back to your room to enjoy breakfast in bed ! Will we go back ? Yes we will ! You get more than you pay for !
