The Inn at Mystic is quite lovely. The grounds are well kept and there are blooming flowers everywhere. Our room was in the Lower east wing, I say this because location is everything I guess. I should have known when I walked into the stairwell to go down to my room my nostrils were attacked by the smell of mold. It only got worse when we entered the room. Although the room is quaintly decorated the smell of mold kinda ruins it all. My allergies went through the roof and even though they had a dehumidify set up and running, it didn't help. The front desk couldn't give a rat's Heine about it they just said they would call maintenance, for almost $300.0 night I was hoping for a bit more....On the plus - the view of the Mystic cove was wonderful and the Inn is walking distance to the Mystic Bay area. If you try the place, make sure you do not get the moldy rooms.

I stayed at the Inn at Mystic during the 4th of July weekend with my boyfriend. The Inn has just undergone some updates and in addition to these renovations, the rooms and grounds are kept very very neat and clean! We had a cozy room with a balcony, fireplace, and view of the harbor. They also have a tennis court and really nice and updated pool area. The staff is so polite and helpful, even when we checked in around 11:00pm the person helping us was so welcoming at such a late hour. I would definitely recommend this location and can't wait to visit again! Oh, and they also have a renovated restaurant called the Habour House and it's a must try! The food is so fresh and delicious, the staff so polite and accomodating. (The HH breafast is awesome!!) The Inn and restaurant definitely helped to make this a great weekend!
Thank you again staff of Inn at Mystic and Habour House ;o)

Room Tip: Definitely splurge and the the room with the balcony and view...It's so worth it!

Only spent 1 night but it was comfy and historic at same time. The bed had the greatest pillows and I liked having the comforter (down I think) available. Oh if you have hard time getting in and out of bed I'd ask how high the bed is off the ground. I'm 5'7" and took a bit getting use to not having your feet touch but it made it interesting. At first I had to get use to the smell of antique furniture but it seemed to dissipate with AC on. We looked over the tennis courts and I'm not sure if they were open as there was a large crack on one side. We had a nice size room with a great view. I went out on deck it was very peaceful. It had a floating deck floor over the roof which could use a little cleaning underneath. We had breakfast at restaurant which did open the day before we got there. It's very inviting walking through the breezeway to the dining room and views are great. Our breakfast was tasty. There still was some construction as they were building a deck which will be awesome when they finish. We would come back and make a point to walk around property.

We went here for our 1-yr anniversary and it was fantastic. The staff went out of their way for us. The rooms are nice and we slept great in this sleepy Connecticut shore town. We were sad we were one day early for the opening of the restaurant but it is a short 5 min walk to Downtown Mystic. The best part of trip was the views of the Mystic bay/cove from our room and if you walk up the small hill the view gets even better. The grounds are splendid and we saw a bunch of little critters bunnies and woodchucks. We are looking forward to coming back next year.

The hotel looks nice from a distance and the new management is very nice as well. The issue is the major renovations. They are doing a ton of work on the place. The restaurant is completely gutted. We were given a room in a separate building, which helped, but our room wasn't renovated. It was musty and outdated. We were the only patrons. I would give this place a few months and let the work get done. I am certain it will be spectacular when it is finished.

Thank you for staying with us and I apologize for the renovation conditions that you had to deal with. As an update, the restaurant is complete, including a great outdoors deck on the front of the building, and everyone is raving about the new look, the food and the service. Our room renovations are well under way and we have completed a third of the rooms. In the next couple of weeks we will be installing new carpet, drapes, bathroom amenities, new linens and towels and a number of other upgrades to make all of our guests have a more enjoyable stay.
We are very committed to making this a fabulous place to eat and stay, please come back and see all that we have accomplished so far.

We recently vacationed in Connecticut and found ourselves in the nice little town of Mystic. We had the good fortune to check out the Inn at Mystic. The rooms we lovely, spacious band extremely comfortable. The staff was so friendly and helpful. A group of investors has recently purchased the property and are working on renovations. I can't wait to return and see their vision come to life!

Came to Mystic on our road trip from NYC to Maine. Chose Mystic for silly nostalgic reasons (the movie Mystic Pizza). The Inn was in the process of renovations by the new owners. We had 2 rooms (2 couples) and were delighted with the decor, furnishings and amenities etc. Their restaurant wasn't up and running but that didn't matter to us at all. The Inn may have appeared tired but everyone was working hard to get it back to the most amazing venue in Mystic. This was much more personal than the big chain hotels. Even a real fire place in the room and logs provided - very romantic! I wish them luck for the future in restoring this amazing property to its former glory. Booked thru Expedia who quoted and charged us much more than the Inn stated on their receipt. Now sorting this out for a refund from Expedia. Dont be put off by bad reviews - give them a go, they deserve it.
