I am sorry that you feel we are overpriced. The bulk our the products we serve are organic and when in season local and our food costs are at a minimum 25 to 50% more than conventional restaurants. All our eggs are local cage free organic, all our milk is organic, our bacon is thick cut applewood smoked uncured nitrate free, our chicken is organic, our meets are either grass fed or prime all our bread comes from the finest bakeries in NY and local and our vegetables are primarily coming from local organic farms. It’s upsetting to see a review that considers us overpriced, the Café is much more than a business to us; we live and breathe food and we are dedicated to only serve the highest quality clean food at Baldanza.

7:00 PM Saturday evening reservation. Seated promptly on time at an indoor table. The inside portion seats approx 30 with an outdoor patio seating for an additional 30 or so. Beer and wine only with a decent but expensive wine list. Great variety of dinner selections, both menu and specials. Originally seated at table for two but after we were seated for approx 15 minutes asked if we would change tables so that they might join adjacent tables for a party of six. Complied and told that they would cover our drinks for the inconvenience - more on that later. Excellent burrata appetizer which we split. Paparadelle with bolognese excellent as was the halibut entree. Split crumb crusted cherry pie also excellent. Service better than average but not great. Ambiance average. All in all a good experience but didn’t leave us wowed. And as to buying the drinks - well nothing. Lots of dinning options in lower Fairfield County. May return but not for certain.

At the recommendation or a local friend of mine, my wife and I had lunch and then, a day or two later, breakfast. The food was good, not super great, and the service was pretty good, too, considering today's standards. The gimmick is "organic, farm raised, local, etc." I am paraphrasing here. So, if that turns you on, go for it, and pay the price. Atmosphere, not much. Very small, cramped little tables, photo art on the wall for sale. For myself, I would not return.

The place is hard to find... really down an alley, kind of behind some other places.

The food was fine. It's hard to make an omelette exceptional, and they didn't. But it was fine. However, they got the orders switched between my wife and me. That they should have gotten right.

And the mimosa - they charged for a full glass of champagne... for a small glass of half OJ. Not a bargain, but our fault for not asking before ordering.

GREASY/POOR SERVICE
Booked breakfast for Mother’s Day. Food slightly greasy. Forgot a lemonade and a green kale/apple juice. They told us when we asked for the check that they had no lemonade and that they forgot the juice. Restaurant has no space. I cannot understand how they got their certificate of occupancy. There are MUCH better options in the area.
