“a hidden treasure”

Woodward Avenue in New Haven is a lovely place. It is right off the Pearl Harbor Memorial bridge. Fort Hale Park is a great place to take your younger children for a Saturday morning visit. During the summer they have people working to give you information about the park. In the off season you can walk through yourself. It is located in the Annex section of New Haven.

“Seedy people hang out here”

Years ago this place was great. Now, not so much. There are always seedy people hanging out here.

I was very pleasantly surprised by this area of New Haven. Is this also known as Lighthouse Park?

“Not worth the effort”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 May 2010

Some other websites (including Wikipedia) made this sound like something worth seeing. There was great signage off the freeway but at the end of our journey we ended up at a park with a picnic pavilion and a fishing pier. There was a small pile off something off in the distance but barriers prevented close up inspection. There were several cars in the parking lot with single men in them. We didn't hang around.
