At a moment when our family really needed refuge (unexpected ER trip for our 2 year old that PM), the Days Inn New Haven turned out to be smoky, dirty, and full of drunken local frat boys who had reserved the three rooms nearest ours. We had to plead with management to tell the frat to close down the loud partying, but the boys kept at it till 2:30am, even with threats of police. Don't get me started on the audible soliciting of prostitution going on in the parking lot just outside our window. And it wasn't the frat - it was other delightful locals carrying on their own delightful weekend activities.

On the positive side, my morning shower was possible and not cold. But don't be fooled; we'll never ever in a hundred lifetimes even slow down near this hole again. Thanks for nothing, Hotels.com!

Dear Guest,
I am sorry about the situation you had during your stay. In this situation we did our best to control the situation. The guest was given 3 warnings and they did calm down after a bit. This situation can happen at any motel/hotel. We can not tell what the guest will do in the room, however after we get a complain we do try to resolve the situation before involving police in the matter.

Thank You,
Management

Wifi access inside room was poor. TV set was old and outdated. Sink was obstructed and bath drainage was bad. Staff were friendly and helpful though. Thanks for your service anyway.

We booked this hotel through one of the "blind" hotel sites, so we got a great deal, price-wise. However, you do get what you pay for. The place stank...hallways and rooms had a not very pleasant odor. We did smell the cigarette smoke that others spoke about, but also there was a smell that was was more subtle...like something rotting under the carpet. The other guests we encountered seemed to be shady types. One guy was smoking a bowl of pot on the steps, another family with a man, a woman in sweatpants, with both her hands fully down her pants while she walked, with a 2 year old child with no shoes...Yelling in the parking lot. I did drive down the road to pick up some food for dinner, so I can recommend No 1 Chinese restaurant...that was the high point of the trip...except they even forgot to give me a fork or napkins. Breakfast was dry sugar cereal, toasted bread (no bagels or danish), or lumpy oatmeal. I do like oatmeal, but this had uncooked dry lumps that just stuck in my throat and so I had to toss it. If you just need a place to sleep for the night, and don't care if you're in a hinky hotel in a not-so-nice area, and all you care about is price, then you'll be OK. If you want to enjoy anything at all about your visit, go elsewhere.

Stayed one night. Location was ok, close to Yale, and that's why we stayed there. Everything looks run down, but I have stayed on worth hotels. For the price, it was ok.

What I didn't like is the rude management and horrible breakfast. It was a group of us sitting at the table, when the guy from the front desk )and I assumed is a manager) came to us, and told us that we are sitting here to long and have to leave. It was about 9 am, the breakfast ends at 10.

The breakfast itself was nothing - really dry oatmeal, jelly that is so hard you cannot even stick a spoon to it and 'hot' water that is almost cd and feels like a tap water. There is juice, bread and cereal - that's all. When the same guy was asked about the hot water, he was extremely rude!

Overall, it was an unpleasant experience!!
