“Breakfast on the Q River”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 June 2014

Our very favorite place to have breakfast, this smallish cafe is located in a little marina on Front Street in the historic Fair Haven section of New Haven, CT. Big windows provide a view of the Quinnipiac River flowing by the restaurant; in good weather sit out of the roomy deck and enjoy your meal up front and personal with the water view. Standard breakfast and lunch fare--very good. Excellent service with a smile. After breakfast you can walk around this interesting old neighborhood with a variety of 18th and 19th century oystermen houses with their distinctive raised first floors. Across the river the oystering industry still thrives. You can watch the oyster boats from the deck of the Boat House Cafe while you're enjoying a cup of coffee.

A small cozy place with a view of the Quinnipiac river down by a marina,Great breakfast and lunch at reasonable prices. The corned beef hash is the real deal.

“Great breakfast!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 December 2013

Happily stumbled upon this cheerful cafe right on the river. Server was prompt and friendly, ensuring us the corn beef hash was homemade. We ordered it with our eggs on top and it did not disappoint. My egg was cooked perfectly and appeared over a mound of fresh hash which was not over-salted (a frequent flaw). We will be back!

“Nice casual place on river.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 October 2013

It is a small trailer looking place right on the river. There are 2 small eating areas, inside & outside, overlooking the marina. We were a little disappointed that they only served fried clam strips, not whole clams but, the fish sandwiches were great. Fresh & tasty fish, fries and coleslaw. The price was right and the service fast. Recommend for sure.
