We happened upon this place by accident and were so happy we stopped! As part of our trip to New England we drove from Boston to Essex, CT and we had a list from online of the best places to eat lobster along our road trip. The 1st place had over a 4 hour wait time so we moved on to the next one. The next three were closed for the season. So we headed towards the water hoping to find an open restaurant. We came upon this little building near the marina with a lot of cars in the parking lot and thought it must be a locals' hang out, let's try it. The hostess was greeting most people by name. The bar was to the left and dining room to the right. We were seated immediately and Lee our waitress was so patient, friendly and helpful! We ordered some appetizers to start, Lee recommended the bomster scallops, they were excellent and melted in your mouth. My husband who does not like scallops ever, liked these. The clam chowder was thick, creamy and loaded with clams. The popcorn shrimp were lightly breaded and seasoned wonderfully. The shrimp for the cocktail tasted like they had just come off the boat, very tender and flavorful. We both had the whole lobster and it was extremely delicious. By this time we were so full we couldn't eat any of the sides, so we took them with us along with some desserts. With all that we ordered, our whole dinner was under $100 for the two of us and everything was a "yum" in every bite. We would definitely eat there again and again.
