“Quiet, relaxing, great breakfast”
Reviewed 3 January 2013

Jac welcomed us and made us feel right at home. The accommodations are very clean, neat, tidy and quiet. We walked to the beach (about 2 blocks), enjoyed the stroll along the boardwalk that seems to go on and on. The breakfast was fantastic….absolutely fresh ingredients, well prepared. We only stayed one night on our drive up the coast of South Africa and would recommend this accommodation to anyone staying in Port Elizabeth.

I was recommended by John White, I gather a fairly regular supporter of the B+B establishment, to stay at 80On Brighton. On arrival I was mimed iately impressed with the welcome I got from staff members who showed me around and got me checked in before I went off on my business call. Upon my return, I was again welcomed back and spent a most relaxing late aftnoon and evening in the Daisy suite. All the amenities one would expect were neatly stored, iron and board, hairdryer, reading materials, well stocked bar fridge, tea and coffee etc... I was disappointed however that I could only avail of one night before going back to Johannesburg. A good breakfast in the morning and some good discussion about my pet love ( spaniel dogs) with Donna and staff rounded off a memorable experience. I shall be back for sure. I have realised that staying in hotels really only provides for being lonely when away from home but friendliness and good service plus great facilities such as 80 certainly makes up for a successful trip.

We stayed at 80 on Brighton during our honeymoon and had an amazing time!
Our room (The Lily Room) was beautiful with a gorgeous big bathroom, rose petals on our bed and champagne on arrival! Such a treat!
Breakfast was delicious and the staff were so helpful with our every request - we really felt at home from the moment we arrived.
We went on safari with Schotia Safaris, which was all arranged for us by Jac prior to our arrival, and it was a fantastic experience!
The decor is stunning and well thought out, the bed is amazingly comfortable, and the friendly staff really make this place what it is!
We really couldn't have asked for more, and would recommend this B&B to anyone heading to Port Elizabeth!

This is truly one of the best B&B's we've ever stayed at. The staff (and service) was truly wonderful. They really have thought of everything and no request was too much trouble. We will definitely be back. Wish there were more places like this around!

Room Tip: All the rooms are stunning and appeal to different tastes... find the "nest" that suits yo...

This owner managed bed and breakfast is by far one of the very best in South Africa. I have been staying here for the past three years and go back there time after time. The atmosphere is warm. Rooms are amazing. Plugs are enough and placed strategically and practical. The breakfast is superb. The location of this establishment is perfect. I have referred everyone who went to Port Elizabeth to 80 on Brighton. The prise is reasonable and you get great value for money. Bed linen is of highest quality and the staff highly professional and efficient. Do yourself a favour and stay here next time you are in Port Elizabeth.

Thank you Jac for a beautiful 5 star stay in PE! Your flexibility and thoughtfulness is 10 stars!! We loved being able to walk to the Boardwalk. We loved tea in the garden behind the Lavender Cottage and walking to Indian Ocean sunsets. We loved your delicious French press coffee, freshest croissants and best full English breakfast of our trip. We only wish we could have stayed longer. Bettymae Brandman

This is a B & B with a difference! Ok, the decor may be somewhat ersatz & over the top perhaps for some people's taste, but this is almost a model of how to run a B & B - it really did feel like a 5 star hotel on a B & B budget. Owner Jacs & her utterly charming staff can not do enough for you & you really get the impression that Jacs has thought of everything - we even had complimentary sherry in our room! Immacuately kept, safe grounds would make this a perfect place for a family holiday. Hotel schools should send their students here for Jacs to show them how its done... Wonderful.
