“Not worth the stay!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 June 2013 via mobile

So I checked in on Friday it's great then Saturday morning I call the front desk and ask the manager when they open so I can check in very rudely he says 9 and hangs up on me. Later he very rudely yells at me telling me that I'm going to fast ok whatever he's old. Well the front office staff tell me I can park on the side of the driveway well he comes down yelling so I ask him why he's being so rude and tells me he will be much more rude if he wants so as I go up to the front desk he goes up ranting and raving. I ask him why he is yelling and he said well let's go outside and il give you yelling threatening with physical violence. I have 2 witnesses to this and he then tells me if I don't like it to leave with profane language and this is suppose to be a family place. He shows no respect to anyone and is extremely disrespectful.

Over priced and poor management from the owners. We stayed in the deluxe sites at $90 a day and the management gave us a hard time for every little thing. Quiet time is at 10pm and at 9:50 they came over got in our face with flashlights and told us to turn off our music (which was not loud at all) and turn off our TV (which was on mute!) or they were calling the cops- there was 6 of us sitting around a campfire! We played softball in the field at 3pm and they told us we were being too loud and quiet hours are strictly enforced (it was 3pm!!). This is a fine place for an old quiet couple but not for a group of people. The rest of the staff was nice and enjoyable but no the owner John.

Coming from western MA, Mystic KOA is the perfect place for us to kick off the 2013 camping season over the Memorial Day weekend. It is a short haul for our 5th wheel to take for the weekend and get out all of the kinks for camping over the summer. Cons were that you couldn't park more than 1 car at a site, which I didn't understand as we were in the safari field and there was ample room for parking. Another con is that it was $100 more for the weekend than Mystic Seaport which was just 8 miles away (however, for that $100 more you do get more amenities: nicer campground, heated pool, bounce playmat and Mystic was under construction and was a muddy mess). Another con was that there was only 1 dump station and they were very draconian in their checkout time. The pros though are that they had wifi, 36 ch cable, twice a day on-site trash pickup. Normally we connect to sewer but the full hookups were all booked so the dump station was a necessary stop.

Room Tip: The pull through sites are nice for big rigs but you are out in the open. The full hookups were boo...

Went for the weekend with family before the main season started. Stayed in their Kozy Kabins. The staff was helpful and friendly, and even offered portable heaters for the cold nights. Close to the Mystic Aquarium and other activities. Had a great time and would go back.

We lucked into a night at the campground. Turned out it was an earlier Halloween night at the campground. Campers had their site deck out for Halloween and a haunt hayride through the campground... we were even registered by a werewolf. Great staff and a wonderful shower.
thanks for the happy night.

Late September, campground empty except for long termers and rate still over $60 for an unlevel site with minimal landscaping. The row in front of us was devoid of trees. Good wifi connection. The facilities were dated but clean. The staff were less than enthusiastic, requesting that we not bother them too early for propane in the morning after they deemed it too late in the AFTERNOON.

Sure the location is sweet for quick drives to Mystic, Groton, and New London. But billing yourself as accessible to NYC for the opera, is inan. Nothing justifies the price.

We camped in a motor home.

This campground was great! Clean, quiet, even though we were here Labor day weekend. Staff was friendly and helpful. Very dog friendly.

only 10 minutes away from the Aquarium, Mystic Seaport etc. Easy to just hop on I-95 and get to the fun!
Plenty to do at the campground, with 2 nice size pools, and activities!

Room Tip: If you din't have an RV or tent they had adorable cabins!
