“Took a chance on this BYOB and it was great!!”
Reviewed 3 April 2014

We were 75 miles from home and read about this place on line. Being a BYOB it really appealed to us. Great flavors and food choices. Tables and chairs are a bit tight however you quickly forget this when the food starts arriving. The steak entre was outstanding along with the asparagus soup. The desserts are all homemade and some of the BEST we have ever had.
MUST MAKE A RESERVATION since their obviously is a clientele that frequents this off the main drag cage.

“Our Favorite Spot”
Reviewed 5 March 2014

Sometimes in life we forget those who are closest to us, restaurants can suffer the same fate. Basso Cafe is a great neighborhood eatery. It is a BYOB establishment, not because it is lacking in sophistication, but because it is small and intimate.
Renato is a stickler for detail, a perfectionist with a passion for great things. We live just a mile away, eat here on a regular basis and have never been remotely disappointed. A delicate sea bass or a hearty pappardelle will be sure to please even the most sophisticated palates, and the light and fluffy tres leches or tiramisu are sure to delight for dessert. There are always creative specials as well as the regular menu. Basso's should not be missed for any occasion, no matter if you are close by or driving the distance. Always a special time.

“A great spot for dinner. In Fairfield County”
Reviewed 19 January 2014

The Service, Atmosphere, and Food is spectacular; our server was well versed in the menu, The cheese plate was fantastic! I haven't had such wonderful cheese since my France trip
I recommend you indulge in multiple courses or tapas to have the full experience. Plus is B.Y.O.
I cant wait to come back. Kudos to the chef for such a great menu.

“I wanted to like it so much more......”
Reviewed 30 December 2013

Went with four people recently (first time there).......i was hoping that we would be adding a new place to our "list" of favorites. Bottom line---- friendly servers , good food (not great ), tables are stacked too close to one another and getting to your table can be an adventure, way too loud.
We were hoping to look forward to going back. We may for a return visit but my guess is "no".

“Favorite "Neighborhood" Restaurant”
Reviewed 14 October 2013

We have dined at this restaurant by ourselves, with friends and with our kids from NYC and it is consistently excellent and enjoyed by everyone of all ages.
From the street it doesn't look like much but once inside the atmosphere is contemporary, sophisticated and comfortable, the menu items are creative and appropriately priced, the service is always attentive and friendly, seating is always prompt and they encourage BYOB for a small corkage fee of $10. Appetizer, entree and dessert items we have ordered has been nicely presented, portions are ample and delicious!
This is now our favorite, "Go To," restaurant in the Wilton - Norwalk area.
