This was a nice museum. I liked the exhibit on his round the world journey. It was very interesting. I did not like the art exhibit. I loved the Abraham Lincoln exhibit. It was interesting and informative. X rating 4.3

“Slater Memorial Museum in Norwich, CT”
Reviewed 2 January 2013

What a wonderful opportunity to visit this newly renovated gem of a museum in coastal CT. The art work in the galleries are true treasures. So few art museums in this country show large galleries of large plaster casts of the originals of the master sculptors. Exquisite and certainly unique..! Recently saw an art exhibit of the juried works of the Connecticut Women Artists. A super show in the large galleries. A must see MUSEUM..!

“Lovely small museum in S.E. Connecticut”

This museum has been recently done over, and worth seeing. It has some unique things to view, and the staff is particularly hard working.

“Norwich's best kept secret!”
Reviewed 29 March 2012

Imagine going to a high school that has it's own classical museum! That's what kids who go to Norwich Free Academy can claim. NFA's Slater Museum usually incurs a lot of eye-rolling amongst the teens who attend there until they grow up and realize how really cool it was to have all that culture and history available at their fingertips. Visitors to the museum will find their jaws dropping when they walk in and realize this place is part of a high school. Awesome!
