Lots of interesting things to see. Bring the kids too! Admission price is a bargain also. The museum is located on the campus of Norwich's HS (NFA)

The Slate Art Museum is located on the campus of the Norwich Free Academy (NFA to the locals). It is a first class art museum with a fabulous collection of plaster casts made from the original great sculptures in Europe and Greece. It also houses wonderful paintings, photographs and other unique art. There are also traveling exhibits that are featured regularly. The 82nd Annual Juried works of Connecticut Women Artists will once again be featured from August 31 through September 27, 2013 and is definitely worth the trip.
The really great thing about The Slater is the opportunity provided to the students at NFA a place to be able to learn about the beauties of art in a truly great setting.

This was a nice museum. I liked the exhibit on his round the world journey. It was very interesting. I did not like the art exhibit. I loved the Abraham Lincoln exhibit. It was interesting and informative. X rating 4.3

What a wonderful opportunity to visit this newly renovated gem of a museum in coastal CT. The art work in the galleries are true treasures. So few art museums in this country show large galleries of large plaster casts of the originals of the master sculptors. Exquisite and certainly unique..! Recently saw an art exhibit of the juried works of the Connecticut Women Artists. A super show in the large galleries. A must see MUSEUM..!
