Hotel Vagia is a truly wonderful oasis of calm and restfulness. From the moment we stepped out of the taxi we felt welcome and at home. Notis took us on to the cool, shaded veranda, served us chilled beers and a tasty snack before giving us information about the best places to eat and visit. Our room was perfect, very clean, spacious and charming. The view from the balcony was spectacular, looking over the sea and the village. Everything we needed was in the room. Anything else would be provided, if asked for. So often, after a long journey, it is easy to feel that somewhere failed to live up to expectations. Hotel Vagia exceeded
expectations! Breakfast was delicious. A long table laid out with lots of platters and dishes ..... thick greek yogurt, cakes, frittatas, cheesy pastries, salads, bread, homemade marmalade, orange juice.... fresh coffee... cereals...bowl of fruit...everything you could wish for and as much as you could eat ! And with the company of a tuneful canary. Notis and Maria were always helpful with advice and kindness, indeed we felt part of a family.

The Vagia Hotel is an idyllic spot for peace and relaxation. We think it is possibly the most restful place we have ever stayed. We certainly hope to return one day...soon.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea or temple view

Six days in Athens had left us a bit shell shocked so we were really looking forward to our four day stay on Aegina - we needed to chill out and that's exactly what we did with the help of this delightful hotel. The bus from Aegina town was a very limited service but it took us to within 150 metres walk over the bridge and left along the lane to be greeted by Maria's son Noti .Within minutes we were in our comfortable first floor room with a little balcony already thanking our lucky stars. We were advised on the features of several different local restaurants most of which were open in early May and within a few hours we had swum in the sea , sat in the shade and eaten a good meal while watching the ships out on the Saronikos gulf. We slept soundly every night and survived all day on the excellent breakfast .We spent our days walking out to various sights and sites returning to tea and cake under the shade in the hotel grounds ,followed by a swim and out to eat local food. Now that's chilling out.

We have just spent a night at the Vagia Hotel, and we wish we could have stayed longer. The hotel is full of rustic charm, rooms are well appointed and very clean, and it's in a fantastic quiet location. Maria and Noti are fabulous hosts, very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The Temple is a pleasant manageable walk, even in flip flops and with it closed on arrival! Breakfast at the hotel is very good, and there are plenty of places to eat nearby for lunch and dinner, with the 2 on the beach (which is a nice spot to chill) both serving good food and drink at reasonable prices. Our 1 night here really finished off our visit to Athens in perfect style, and it's probably the best value for money hotel we've ever stayed at!! Fabulous!

Hotel was well appointed. Decks, patios & grounds clean, tidy & adorned with flowers. Excellent breakfast & coffee. Good choice of alcoholic & non alcoholic beverages. Restaurants easy walking distance. Bakery about 2km. Grocery Store about 2km. Noti is a whiz if you need help with your ipad. We originally planned to stay one night but stayed a second night because everything was so agreeable.

We went to Aigina for a weekend the end of September. We found this hotel based on other reviews. We were not disappointed. From the minute we arrived both Noti and his mother made us feel at home. Our room was clean and comfortable but the best part of the stay was hanging out in the lobby and front section of the hotel where there was always coffee and a delicious piece of cake offered. After spending the day at the lovely beach within walking distance we returned to the hotel to shower and change. We were pleasantly surprised to find Noti setting up for a movie. In the front garden, with the scent of night flowers and a glass of wine we enjoyed Hitchcock. What a memorable experience. We were sad to leave but look forward to our next visit.

I spent 5 amazing days on Aegina island due to a last moment decision and Vagia Hotel was the highlight! all praises I read on Tripadvisor were justifiable.
Vagia is built on under the mountain of Profet Ilias and it is a natural start for all the hiking paths that lead to ancient temples, hidden away chapels on the mountains and secret quite beaches. The hotel is 5 minutes walk from the beach and it is surrounded by lush gardens with roses, jasmines, bougainvilleas and every tree you can imagine. The small hotel is great for relaxing and enjoying the view. Only 21 rooms so it never felt busy or crowded, lots of personal space and privacy.

The hotel's ambiance, service, staff, view, rooms, etc are all outstanding! The staff is extremely kind and helpful and Notis is just out of this world. They also gave their cell phone numbers so we could call them 24/7. We were in Aegina city for dinner without a place to go and called reception; in 5 min they got us a table in a restaurant with a great view. I can't say enough about the helpfulness of the staff. Our room was just beautiful and perfectly clean, as were all the facilities. The rooms and service were impeccable and the breakfast o my god the breakfast... first rate the least. From a selection of homemade jams to traditional pies and cakes. Not a hotel for those on diet!
My experience was amazing and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a romantic gateway at a very reasonable price. I would definitely stay there again and I would recommend the place to anyone looking for a quality and peaceful holiday in Aegina!
Thanks Notis, you rule man!
