Checked into room and was unable to bring room temperature down below 73 degrees. Promised me a free night but never came through. Turned off unit and temperature went up (in January). Windows don't open so not an option. Nice HD TVs were installed years ago, but they still offer only analog channels. I've spent better nights at La Quintas.

We visit the Hyatt Greenwich for a "staycation" every few years and they consistently provide excellent service. The hotel is kept very well and updated. The staff is always very nice and helpful. The rooms are clean, well appointed and very comfortable. We asked for a quiet room and were happy with the location - just be warned that some of these rooms can be very far away from the elevator. We were fine with that (again, we wanted quiet), but if you prefer not to walk too far, ask to be closer to the elevator.

Sunday brunch at Winfield's is always a nice meal. There is an omelet station, as well as a buffet with warm food and a cold buffet with cereals, bagels, smoked salmon and fruit and pastries. They also put out coffee in the morning at every floor and in the lobby.

The staff was wonderful during our stay. Many thanks to one of the housekeepers, named Jana. She was AMAZING - she helped us when we arrived and the next day. Her warmth and personal service was exceptional. Also thanks to the front desk staff who helped us with getting a wonderful room and was very helpful with our check in.

The price is reasonable for the area, not necessarily a bargain, but because the hotel consistently delivers on quality, it is a good choice. We hope to return for our next "staycation" soon.

Room Tip: We asked for a quiet room and were happy with the location - just be warned that some of these rooms...

Beautiful hotel! Use to be the Conde Nast building that was renovated into a deluxe hotel. Right over the line from Stamford and right on the Boston Post Road (US 1). The rooms were great. The restaurant and lounge were in the middle of the hotel with a large skylight four or five stories above. A flowing brook, water falls, trees and vegetation, and a few birds made it feel like you were eating in an outside garden, even when the weather was not cooperating.
However, the food and rooms were on the expensive side. A tip - use Priceline name your own price. The hotel evidently does accept discount prices on their rooms during slow times. :)

this hotel has a luxurious quality to it. mario our bellman was very thoughtful and helped with the bags. antony our shuttle driver took us to various places in downtown stamford. interior of the hotel is very tropical with a bridge, pond and a bar with tables and chairs. there is valet and self parking. rooms are spacious with amenities like fridge. they even have coffee and tea service on each floor. we enjoyed our stay!

I travel to Stamford, CT regularly, and this is typically where I stay. The staff is great, the rooms large and clean. The hotel operates a shuttle that will get you to the major businesses in the Stamford area. The inside of the first floor has a large, open area that serves as a bar and restaurant, and the food and service are both very good. The only downside is that there's really not much around the hotel to do (actually, there's NOTHING around the hotel to do), but you can take a taxi into downtown Stamford if need be (and sometimes the hotel shuttle will take you and pick you up). Nice place, nice people.

Location: This hotel is located right on route 1 off of 95. It has a traffic light right at the entrance. Located about 1.5 miles from downtown Stamford and lots of shopping. You do have to drive through a not so clean area to get there….

Appearance: Attractive place and trendy in a good way. Overall clean and kept clean. More of a business resort set-up with lots of meeting rooms.

General Up-Keep: In good condition in all the areas I visited.

Workout room: Loaded with plenty of equipment to keep you busy.
Restaurant: There is a bar and restaurant, did not visit. The bar from the lobby was hopping and very attractive ;-)

Room: Room was very good sized and well kept. Plenty of outlets by the beds for your electronics. Beds high and comfy. Coffee is served by the elevators in the morning, no coffee maker in room. Tv worked great and plenty of channels. You can work at the desk and still see the TV, a big plus in my book as I spend a lot of time working in my room every morning.

Overall Report: Overall, this is nice place and I got a great rate on Priceline bidding in the off season of less than $60. Don’t bother with the valet, (if I were to knock anything, they were very pushy!!!!!) you can drive around back and selfpark and be closer to everything.

Would I come back: Yes

Would I bring my wife and family: Yes

Reason for this trip: Business

Room Tip: Skip Valet and drive around to self-park. Save a few $$ and be closer to your room and lobby.

My sons love the Hyatt. We will check in on a Friday night and not leave again until Sunday. The restaurants are all very good. The prices can run a little steep - Sunday brunch for 2 adults and a child is $140 with tip; dinner at Winfrey's for the three of us is never under $120. Room service is prompt and offers a wide selection and a decent wine list. What really stands out at the Hyatt is the excellent customer service. The Valet has remembered my name for years; the front desk recognizes; and the servers and hostess at Winfrey's have us on a first name basis. Our room was a little delayed this weekend, and the Front Office Manager Meghan McNeill had a nice bottle of wine, some beautiful cheeses, and cookies delivered to our room.
The Hyatt Fit workout room, pool, and hot tub are focus points and can be crowded. Everything here makes for a great family escape.

Room Tip: Insist on being close to the elevator
