“Decent Place”
Reviewed 18 March 2014

I like this place. They have a nice bar with a decent selection of beer and wine, and the dining room is an attractive, inviting area with a craftsman-lodge feel to it. The outdoor seating area is also a very nice place to eat in the summer time. The staff is friendly, accommodating and adequately trained, and the food is decent, though surprisingly inconsistent. Sometimes it's properly cooked and seasoned, while other times it has been too salted and over-done. It is reasonably priced for the area, but not cheap by any means. I'll continue to eat here because I like the bar, the atmosphere and the people. I think you will too.

“Needs fixing up”
Reviewed 19 January 2014

The Otter Cove Restaurant needs attention to wear and tare. While the overall structure is architecturally pleasing and appointed with fine wood molding throughout, the upholstery is visibly torn on some booths, and the carpet needs cleaning or replacement. The upstairs seating area is void of pictures/decoration; i.e., bland. My wife and I stopped for lunch and both ordered the fish sandwich; mostly bread with a small portion of fried fish. Our side of lobster bisque was satisfactory but, likewise, was scant on lobster. The serving included delicious sweet potato fries. Kerry, our waitress, was cordial and efficient. With a minimum of attention, the Otter Cove Restaurant could be elevated to its former glory.

“Standard Fare in a nice atmosphere”
Reviewed 30 December 2013

Otter Cove's atmosphere is fresh clean and new feeling.
The menu ranges from salads to fish and chips to a special Otter Cove seafood stew and Italian pasta
Servers were friendly and accomodating
Food quality was good-a solid good.
OC salad had so many "goodies" in cranberries, cheese, nuts and grapes-it was too much-

“Quick Dinner Following a Snow Storm”
Reviewed 18 December 2013

To their credit, Otter Cove Restaurant was one of the few restaurants in the area who remained open following a snow storm.

We met friends from the area and enjoyed a quiet and enjoyable dining experience. Waiter was helpful and accommodating. My Ahi Tuna small plate was delicious. My husband's lobster roll was also very good.

A positive dining experience on a very cold and snowy day.

“Slow service made for a disappointing evening”
Reviewed 5 December 2013

We've eaten here in the past. Restaurant has an attractive interior and a good location near the Comfort Inn. Menu is varied and the food was good -- orders at our table ranged from fish and chips, to steak, to salmon and all were nicely prepared. However, service was incredibly slow -- we were a party of four and dinner took three hours which was inexcusable since we had no alcoholic beverages or appetizers. It took over twenty minutes at the end from the time we ordered coffee and dessert until it was served. The place was not crowded -- no big groups, just a smattering of couples but the problem was only two servers were working the dining area and I suspect that kitchen staff was also light so things kept backing up.
No excuse for this sort of thing other than poor management.
