I was lucky enough to spend a day and night at the Deacon Timothy Pratt bed and breakfast. My husband had work to do in the area. We got there just in time for breakfast. He left, I stayed. The apple crumpets ...(definitely have...diet or not!!) yogurt with fruit and granola.. nice easy. Rich is the proprieter--great sense of humor, wants his guests to be comfortable and well treated.
Pat is the lady in charge. Knows the area. Can direct you to the beach, tours etc.
I wanted down time. Walked into town...got a pedicure at "cozies". Pat recommended the place. Best pedicure to date. Very helpful--gave me a tour of the place--with the history.
The b&b is lovely. It dates back to the 1700's. The grounds have bird baths, beautiful flowers, lounge chairs to relax on, a fire pit...
Thats just what I did. Sat and read If the weather agrees, sit outside after dinner. Next door is an icecream shop--definitely try it. The restaurant attached is morrocon. People were waiting in line to get in. We tried the appetizers. They were great!
Our room was the "library". If you like old world charm...which I do...this is the place to go...
We will be back!!!! Great area, great spot in Old Saybrook!! Say "hi" to Rich and Pat for us!!More
