Stayed two nights recently for a friends wedding and it was a very pleasant stay indeed. Staff were friendly, the room well appointed, clean and comfortable and the restaurant food was excellent. The spa area may need a little TLC as the steam room was broken and the sauna was quite small and not that hot however the pool was nice and the hot tub was fantastic. Given a reason to be in the area I would certainly stay again.

We had a very relaxing weekend! The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The spa was great. We had amazing facials and good massages. The waiting area in the spa was a little crowded, but I guess that's a given for a Saturday. The restaurant was one of the best meals I've ever had. Service was a little slow, but the meal made up for it. Great seafood salad. The king sized room was large and comfy. There was a fireplace, they sent a gentlemen up to light a just a starter log, which was fine. Room service was prompt and the food was average. Sunday buffet looked very good, but we passed The pool area is decent size, hot tub is too. Steam room fits about 3 people and the sauna about 6, but no one was in either of them. Bunch of kids were in the pool, pretty much all weekend. I would definitely go back. Obviously, when traveling to a resort and spa, it does get expensive, but well worth it.

We enjoyed our daughter's wedding at the end of February 2013 and stayed for the weekend for the Spa weekend package. Both were outstanding!
The staff is exceptional from the front desk to housekeeping, the restaurant is very good, and the amenities are worth a return visit.

A great "getway" The accommodations were beautiful. Stayed in a Jr. Suite, it was spacious & well decorated. Linens on the bed, very nice. Having a fireplace with a real burning log was a nice feature. Water views outside the small balcony. The staff was great, very pleasant. The Fresh Salt Restaurant was very good with a great view and great staff. I'm sure if we enjoyed the view this time of year, it must be even better in the spring and summer. The pool area was nice, a bit small, which limited seating. Great little shops in town and nearby towns. Overall it was a great stay and would return

This was our second visit to this beautiful inn in Old Saybrook. It's more like a beautiful boutique hotel. From the lobby to the rooms, the furniture is beautifully appointed, very comfortable and inviting. Our room had a water view and seating area with a working fireplace. I would recommend this inn and spa to anyone who wants an exceptional and relaxing place to stay. Wish we had stayed one more night.

Room Tip: If you can, I would absolutely suggest that you get a room with a water view.

This was our second trip to Saybrook Point Inn and it won't be the last. After an initial hiccup regarding a room change, all was good.
The first room we were given had a noisy furnace, so we knew that wasn't going to bode well for sleep. It took a few minutes to sort out a room change with the front desk. However, the upgrade made up for that. And, we didn't have to go downstairs to get a new room key. Bobby, who we remembered from our last visit, promptly arrived, smiling, with a valet for our bags and escorted us to our new room, setting up our luggage on racks and hanging bags in the closet. We were given a spacious room, with an electric fireplace and commanding views of the marina and beyond.
A vase of red roses in the room were a surprize orchestrated by my husband and the staff. Nice touch.
Growling stomachs sent us down to Fresh Salt at the bar for late afternoon bloody mary's and the best Rhode Island clam chowder! We also enjoyed the raw bar. We also shared a platter of Cape Cod oysters and Mystic oysters. Fresh and clean on both counts. Freddy, the bartendar was friendly and engaging to chat with. We didn't have dinner at Fresh Salt this time, but, enjoyed the sumptous breakfast the following morning. Unfortunately, we couldn't get a reservation for brunch early enough before our departure. I won't miss it next time, that's for sure. Definitely have dinner at Fresh Salt and if you have an extra night, don't miss Cafe Routier, in nearby Westbrook. Prior to our arrival, the hotel staff took care of reservations for us via email within minutes of my email request!
This time we didn't use the spa, but, it's worth a visit. However, we did enjoy the indoor and outdoor heated saline pools and hot tub. There is something rather decadent about swimming outside while it is snowing! The outdoor pool is heated by a regeneration plant so very efficient use of power.
The staff is really professional and the hotel is topnotch.
we look forward to our next visit, hopefully, during warm weather!

Room Tip: rooms that are not above banquet halls, preferably third floor

My husband and I spend 2 days as a "Getaway" at the Saybrook Point Inn & Spa....it was way too brief a time! Aside from the excellent accommodations, beautifully appointed room, delicious food and beautiful waterfront views at the Fresh Salt Restaurant, it was the staff who made the stay so delightful. From the Front Desk people, Scott & Harry and all, to the FS Hostess, Keleen, and the highly efficient and friendly waitress, Deanna, they couldn't do enough for us. We felt like family, but were treated like royalty! Will definitely be going back SOON!

Room Tip: Any room would be great--clean, beautifully appointed and efficient (Kuerig coffeemaker in room!).
