`Kudrat` echoes a quiet & rejuvenating experience with its indigenous Kath-Kuni architectural looks and cozy hospitality. The place near and around is still untouched by the dwellers and oozes the beauty of nature in an incredible way. While you are at Kudrat, you will have the luxury to listen to the music of the Tirthan river when it gushes through the white rocks and notorious pebbles. If `Tirthan` is Himachal's paradise, then `Kudrat` would be the befitting palace for a luxurious retreat.
Sudhir N. and Bhawana K. - the owners of this place have diligently brought the luxuries here while ensuring that the place resonates with the beauty of the valley. At 6200 ft above sea level, you can watch the marvelous mountains all day long and later gaze upon the constellations in the night sky under the moonlight. If you are lucky enough, you could even witness rainbows on the canvas of the sky-mist pierced by the sunlight.
Although, the homestay is itself so beautiful that you would want to relish all the experiences that it has to offer, but at the same time - you can go for a trek to a waterfall, or visit the nearby villages and get to know the rich tales and traditions from the locals while walking through the plantations of beans, corns, apples and many others. Sudhir and his wife, Bhawana, are an excellent host - I think that was the best part of our whole trip to Tirthan valley. While the Valley has a plethora of things to offer, Sudhir and Bhawana gave us the best vacation experience of our life by their exceptional hospitality. We stayed in their luxurious attic room that had a cozy & warm wooden flooring, and adjoining library with an excellent collection of books, board games, movies/music (DVDs - audio/video) and many other artifacts of great taste. The bedroom had an exclusive sky view above the bed, and we enjoyed gazing the clear night sky while we went to sleep - a very delightful experience. The other amenities are on par with a good 5-star rated hotel, and the wooden interior is an icing on the cake.
Sudhir and Bhawana extended their services for us with great delight at all moments. For the trip to the waterfall, Sudhir sent an aide (`Puneet`), who was an excellent safeguard escort. When we were back from the tiring trek, Sudhir brought some fizz and appetizing fresh sandwiches to quench our thirst and hunger and took us to a fishing spot. We had never imagined that our first fishing experience would be so much fun. He not only taught us fishing but shared some great stories - from Tirthan and beyond. Thanks, Sudhir!
The evenings were mostly spent at the homestay, with engaging offerings from Sudhir & Bhawana. We relished the home-made food (fresh stout fish), barbecued appetizers over wine sitting across bonfire, while sharing experiences, stories, and lot more. With the songs of river Tirthan in the background and the notes played by Sudhir on his acoustic guitar, all our strings of heart and mind were plucked with enjoyment, fun, and gratitude.
On the morning of our departure, we cherished an affair with the mountains & the pines, when Sudhir took us to a nearby spot where there was a beautiful carpet laid down under the sunlight where we could play board games of our interest or catch up on our reading. Oh! those misty mountains, peeping pines, and, the magic carpet under the sunlight - such a beautiful surprise it was! Well, the surprises were not yet over, as later we got some beautiful souvenirs from this lovely couple for our affair with Tirthan Valley in this homestay. (I won't spill the beans about this, to let it be a surprise for other travelers.)
Each and every moment of the stay is a beautiful memory that we feel fortunate to have made by deciding to have a vacation time in this beautiful landscape hugged by the cozy hospitality of this amazing couple. We definitely recommend this place to people who crave for a touch of nature in their life.
And of course, baby `Kudrat` - their angel daughter after whose name this place is known will embrace your heart with happiness when she sends her infectious smiles across.
Thanks to the owners and staff of `Kudrat -A Boutique Homestay` for adding cherries and chestnuts to our vacation in Tirthan Valley.
