We spent a couple of days at this very special place, which felt more like returning home than a staying in a hotel. Gala, Fyodor and Radana, are the sweetest family who will do everything to make you happy, and their place is just to cute to describe. It looks like it was built yesterday, the rooms still have the smell of fresh wood and are SO warm, even though it was pretty cold outside. We would have never hoped for a bathroom like this, but the banya was the real surprise which we enjoyed so much.
Gala is a fantastic cook, preparing delicious local dishes, and she kept spoiling us with sweets. She is a perfect english speaker - which is not so common in Russia -, who gave us all the informations about the island, and organised for us the transportation to/from Irkutsk -at a much better price than that offered by Irkutsk hostels - and the excursions on the island. She will always find her way of proposing something fun to do. The spot is situated just a few minutes form a beautiful beach with big trees and so close to the village, ideal for nice walks.
We just adored the dogs and the cats, they were so friendly and cute, you couldn't stop playing with them. We were just sorry that it wasn't winter yet to take a sleigh ride. Radana, the young princess, is so adorable, she made it hard to say goodbye.
When we booked it with just an email, Gala gave us all the information we needed about our trip. Staying at this place really made a big difference in our trip, because it really felt like home with your best friends. It was a big difference from Nikita's place, where you are just one out of many, where they consider to make you a favor if they happen to answer an email.
We strongly suggest this place to anyone who wishes to get a real feel of hospitality and get closer to the local culture.
