Visited the Inn during the second weekend in November. A little chilly but the town is great for a brisk early morning walk. A lovely breakfast was waiting for me when I returned--good coffee, great breads and muffins and fruit--just what I needed. Met up with my husband who preferred the gym downstairs. My friends and I spent a lot of time in the upstairs room that was available to all guests but we seemed to be the only ones up there--great views of the harbor and the sunset and a perfect place for cocktails before heading out. Wine and cheese was served each evening at 6--added bonus. Good restaurants nearby in walking distance and a short ride into Mystic. The rooms all have fireplaces which was a nice added touch--beds were super comfortable. Plan on visiting when it is warmer to enjoy some outdoor dining and sitting on the porch.

Room Tip: Although every room has it's own charm, a room facing the harbor offers better views.

The Inn felt like a small boutique hotel/B&B. The staff was extremely friendly and made us feel very comfortable. We stayed in #7 which had a lovely view and very well kept. We spent 2 nights and decided to forgo the continental breakfast the first morning. We walked to Noah's and had a yummy breakfast with the locals. The town itself has interesting shops and restaurants. We visited a few wineries close by and took a short drive to Mystic. We were so impressed with how friendly everyone was. Smiles and warm greetings go a long way. We will definitely return.

When we arrived at the Inn at Stonington we were met by unbelievably good smells of home baking. We just about floated to our room, and were definitely looking forward to breakfast the next morning. The staff that greeted us and dealt with us throughout our stay were exceptionally helpful and friendly: nothing was ever too much trouble.
We stayed in room 7, then room 9 as it was fairly booked out, both look out to the river and had balconies. Room 7 was the larger of the two but 9 had a larger balcony. Both were decorated in a similar style and had enormous marble bathrooms. It was a wonderful retreat.
If you cant get a seaview room there is a lounge room on the third floor for guests to enjoy with
spectacular water views and comfortable lounges as well as one on the first floor.
It is close to all the local eateries and shops, and the walks around the town are full of absolutely delightful homes many historical and many just quaint.
Breakfast was just as yummy as the smells the afternoon before promised. There is also a
"happy hour" each evening in the bar from 6-7pm with complimentary wine and cheese which was a great way to start the evening.
We felt our four day stay was exceptional and we would thoroughly recommend staying here especially for a special getaway.

Room Tip: Seaview rooms are the pick but all are of a high standard and common lounge areas are lovely.

My husband, myself, and my father-in-law stayed at the Inn for our son's wedding. From the moment we walked in we felt the warmth and charm of this magnificent Inn. My father-in-law who traveled extensively in his lifetime said he was so grateful he got to experience this wonderful Inn. He said he felt he was in an old friend's home and they were happy to see him.

The staff was outstanding, we hated for the week-end to be over, can't wait to return. Staying there made the whole week-end magical. We can't tell enough people about this wonderful place.

Room Tip: There are street side and water sides, even though ours was street side it was still wonderful.

Situated at the quiet end of the town's main street and just off the river, the Stonington Inn is pretty, elegant and comfortable. We stayed in room one, a somewhat small but beautifully decorated queen bedroom with a private little terrace facing the water. The room's marble bathroom is actually huge and offers an inviting looking whirlpool tub as well as a large stall shower, toiletries and comfortable robes.

This is not a B&B but, nevertheless, a complimentary buffet breakfast is offered each morning with coffee, tea, juice, cereal, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, bread and pastry. When the weather is nice, breakfast can be enjoyed on the inn's large and beautiful deck facing the water. In the evening, the inn offers a complimentary wine and cheese hour that can also be enjoyed on the deck, at the bar or in the comfortable main living room by the fireplace.

We arrived at the inn on a very hot August day and were annoyed to find our room stiflingly hot. However, in response to our complaints, the owner quickly arrived to check it out and the situation was rectified. By the time we returned to our room after dinner, it was cool and comfortable.

Although the inn is by the river and rooms are billed as "sea- side," there is actually a large parking lot and the Skipper's Dock restaurant between the water and the inn. It's still lovely but the view and water breezes are somewhat obstructed.

Overall we found our stay comfortable and Stonington to be a nice little town to visit, especially in summer. It's close proximity to Mystic allows you to enjoy the best of both for a summer holiday.

Delightful romantic Inn on the water in the quaint burrough of Stonington, Ct. All the rooms are very well done, and the water-side rooms offer views to die for.....just doesn't get any better if this is what you crave as my wife and I do. Situated in the center of town and walking distance to some outstanding seafood restaurants and unique shops. Property abuts Skipper's which is a good/lively restaurant also on the water with views galore. Innkeeper is most accomodating and attentive, and the complementary continental breakfast and evening wine and cheeze are fine touches.

There is a beautiful quiet about Stonington and the Inn - at least, in October, perhaps it is more bustling in summer. We really felt as though we were a world away from everything, and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. The upstairs sitting room is a lovely, hidden retreat, but the comfy chairs downstairs in the sitting room is also quite comfortable with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine as you chat with the staff or other guests. Given that the local coffee place closes at 3 PM (yes, you read that right), it would be nice if the rooms had coffee pots, or if something (thermos? Keurig?) was directly available in the breakfast room at all times; having to ask the staff for coffee because there is simply nothing available is not my favorite thing.
