“Fun in the great outdoors”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 August 2013

If you have always desired to zip line over the ocean, river, forest, or canyon somewhere in the Rockies, Costa Rica, Nicaragua or Jamaica, you just may want to test your comfort level somewhere local first. Adventure Park in Storrs CT is perfect for such a feat. It was so much fun challenging oneself couple feet off the ground and swinging from the trees and testing one's limits. We purchased a deal for 2 using groupon and then visited (no need to make an appointment). There is plenty of free parking available. The staff are courteous, professional and helpful. It is environmentally friendly (use insect repellent, no motors, do no damage to trees or trails). The staff help you get suited up in your climbing harness and trained (orientation to using the locks) you before you went up in the trees. There are four different levels (yellow, green, blue and black) for different strengths and abilities. It combines obstacle courses with the zipline. It was so much fun. Best of all it is family friendly. I am definitely going again, and this time I am taking my children (children over 7 are permitted). It is also really safe (you are always locked to a cable using their double lock device) and the staff help you get down if you get stuck, have difficulty or are simply afraid. I went with my husband and two friends and we all enjoyed it. Its also a really fun workout.

“Challenging for all ages! Fun! Exercise! Tree top adventure!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 August 2013 via mobile

We went as a family of teens and adults on a weekend afternoon and loved it. Weekdays are less crowded but although your admission price is for two hours, if crowded they give you a little extra to accommodate the crowds. You will wear a harness and gloves. The staff fits you with it. No prior experience needed. But beware, this is going to be exercise! Everyone first has a safety talk that shows how to clip in and out and ow to use the zip lines.
Zip lines are like the dessert on the courses!
There are courses of different level. Yellow is the easiest and for youngster like age seven. Under seven would probably be overwhelmed. But up to age 90 you will find a challenge that is right. The levels are yellow, green, blue, black. Each is higher. Everyone must first start with yellow or green. The good zip lines are of course in blue or black. But you have to earn them!

You will find obstacles like walking on a log between two trees, traversing a cargo net, squeezing through rings, and my personal challenge, crossing a wire while hugging a four by four! You may be fifteen or twenty five feet off the ground! Lots of the obstacles require balance and upper body strength!
The staff is young, fit, and very helpful! The courses are sort of monitored. If you are stuck trying to cross an obstacle, you yell for help and they will come and either tell you how to correct it, or actually come pm and either help you across or help you down! You will be testing your limits.
You can come alone or with a group and still have fun. Camaraderie is built with whoever is in front or behind you on whichever trail you are on as you figure out what comes next! Everyone starts together but can move at own pace.
The place is new. They have portapotties, but it is clean. They are very aware of not disturbing the forest much!
If you ever climbed trees as a kid you will enjoy it!
Adults and kids alike will love it! Can't wait to go back!
Go!
