Perfect location. Right on the waterfront. Good view. Restaurant is very good, medium priced. Worth the trip and money. Rooms are basic nothing fancy but well kept. South end rooms will have balcony with water front view :-) Kudos to the management!

this is an old place, needs updating, and OMG some new mattresses. Not a very good night's sleep here, but really, it's a motel at the beach for under $100. Loved the pink toilet and tub from the 70's. tiny litte beach , but would be great for small kids. Bigger beaches close by. Free breakfast was in the restaurant, got an eye roll and attitude from the waitress when we ordered the free stuff. ( bagels, muffins, and cold cereal. ) It was fine for the 1 night we stayed on our way to Boston area. Did not stay here on the way back!

Room Tip: There are some rooms with a water view, not sure of the price of those. wouldn't bother, you pro...

Very, very outdated! Do not stay here if you have any mobility issues. All floors are uneven, dangerous. Practically nothing in our room worked properly. Faucet in bathroom was broken, TV changer did not work. I saved this for last because it is so awful-our bed was held up by telephone books stacked on top of each other!! The rollers and center posts on the frame were all broken so they held them up with the telephone books. The bed was at least 3 inches lower in the middle. I called the front desk and they had no concern. Asked me if it made a problem for me to sleep? No effort made by staff to help us. What a dump!!!

We stayed at the Rodeway Inn in Stratford one night while visiting family. We had a room on the second floor with a view of the parking lot. There not many rooms with a beach view, so if you want one be sure to request it at reservation time.

The parking lot could use a good cleaning. There is debris including fence pieces with barbed wire on the side of the building. Parking was difficult to find, we had to wait for someone to leave their parking spot. The full parking lot could be attributed to people visiting the beach and the restaurant. We did not visit the restaurant on this trip.

We are on a budget and we try to stay in hotels that in the $70-$150 range when we travel. In my opinion, this room was not worth the $90 we paid. The Innkeepers could invest in some updating (at the very least, new mattresses, air conditioners and paint) and then could even hike up the price a bit and it would be worth it). The air conditioner was noisy and didn't work well. We had a king size bed, but the mattress was old and lumpy and the sheets were scratcy. We did not have a restful sleep.

There was a microwave and refrigerator in the room, which we did not use. I was suprised we did not have a small coffeemaker in the room. The television was an old table top tube style. The bathroom looked like ours did back in the 70's. Really needs an update. We weren't expecting a four star hotel, but we had stayed at a similar hotel type in Cape Cod and we paid the same price for more upscale accomodations.

There is a small beach across the street, a little rocky but nice for an evening walk or seasell collecting. The hotel is easy to find, and the neighborhood is safe.

First of all, I don't understand people who say they felt so welcomed. Hospitality and kindness is far from the employees here. When we checked in, we rang a bell so finally a half asleep guy came out as if he was doing us a favour (it was 7pm). It was a younger guy in his thirties and moved around the same way in the restaurant area as well. An older guy checked us out, he wasn't any nicer.
Rooms are outdated - even if someone walks up the stairs you can feel the floor moving! They placed the AC facing to one of the beds, so the person sleeping on that bed got a full flow of cold air or otherwise everyone was hot - there was no way around it.
The only positive side could be the restaurant, but it's a disgrace, so even that doesn't make it positive. Food is not consistent, the waitresses are like flegmatic Hooters girls with no manners or attention to the guests. For the service you get, the price is way too high! Go somewhere else!

Room Tip: If you take Ocean view, you will be close to the stairs, which makes sounds if someone walks up or d...

Looks nice, next to beach but there is really no view. Let's face it, there is nothing to see except waves.

Everything from the beds to the sheets to the TV are so outdated and old.

I really did not like the room and it does not look clean.

The parking lot is filty with garbage and glass.

The guy in the check-in sounds like a used car salesman and could not care less about the guests as he was chatting up a storm on the phone with his friend.

I decided to stop at Bridgeport area for my road trip but I realized it's a horrible destination once I was here, just keep driving because there is absolutely nothing here. Even the strip clubs are horrible.

I reserved here, off season, with no expectations of 5 stars, but wanted to try out the beach location in New England. It was a great value. The room was clean, TV and fridge worked fine, it was quiet and I had a good night's sleep.
Couldn't beat the value, and it was a change from the normal chain in a crowded location. I could walk the coastal drive at sunrise, which was beautiful, and had a very good breakfast in the restaurant.
My Thanks to the staff...

Room Tip: I had an ocean view, at an angle, without asking. Probably wouldn't hurt to request this when c...
