“Nemo refuge”
Reviewed 11 February 2013

The westport inn is a wonderful place to stay and due to the inclement weather that has plagued our area I have sought refuge there on many occasion. The staff, specifically Kim Haberstrah and the assistant manager Ron Nassef were amazing and took such wonderful care of the people there. The morning after the storm Kim was taking care of so many people and was so patient, kind, and competent. The new restaurant was wonderful and they handled the crowd in such a professional manner. Storm or no storm, this place is a true gem on our gold coast.

The Westport Inn was the choice for our district meeting. It was perfect. Meeting area was perfect for the 10/11 of us. The rooms were absolutely gorgeous and spacious. When we entered the lobby it was warm and inviting. We sat around the fireplace catching up with each other. We all agreed all our future district meetings should be here. It was easy to get to and there were tons of places around to go to for dinner. Ron at the front desk was amazing. I have told all my friends and family about this inn and how I am totally going back on my own for either a girls weekend or with my family. Can't wait to stay here again!

Room Tip: I stayed in the back building on the second floor. Rooms were huge and had high ceilings. Thermosta...

We stayed in the king suite, which was far from it. A noisy inwall heater/ air unit completed the experience. The bathroom was freezing, a comment to the front desk was met with a shrug of the shoulders. I did not expect a five star experience but I did expect more than a common highway motel room. Yes the pool is nice and the lobby area inviting, but sadly we will not be back.

Thank you for your feedback regarding your recent stay at The Westport Inn. We have made adjustments to the heater in your guestroom and checked the remaining rooms to make sure they were all operating correctly and quietly. We have shared your comments with the Front Desk and will continue to train them on the proper way to respond to guest feedback. Thank you and I hope you do give us another opportunity in the future.

The Westport Inn was recently redone and is a wonderful modern inn to make as your home base while exploring the charming nearby New England towns or visiting Fairfield University. Be sure to borrow the free bikes to take a leisurely bike ride through the charming nearby neighborhoods. Has indoor pool. Check out the beautiful beaches at Compo and Sherwood Island State Park (pricey during the season for non-residents). Convenient to the charming town of Westport and it's fashionable boutiques and delicious restaurants. Hotel has an excellent restaurant with delicious food - from oatmeal at breakfast to steak for dinner - and delicious breads, so no need to venture out to eat. But if you venture out, be sure to dine along the Saugatuck River at the River House or Arezzo Ristorante (we had the most delicious lobster here at a reasonable price).

Room Tip: Hotel is 2 story and most rooms are motel style with an exterior door - best to be on the 2nd floor.

Ron and Antonella at the Front Desk excelled in ensuring we had a great stay. It is a warm, friendly, clean and comfortable Inn that goes above and beyond in customer service. It is great value and we would definitely stay again.

Stayed here on a business trip for 4 days and the only good thing I can say is it was close to my client's location. Annabelle on the front desk was the only employee who was helpful in the slightest. They say they have a restaurant but it doesn't actually exist. The first night we went for dinner and sat in the restaurant unnoticed for at least 10 minutes. The bartender finally came halfway toward us and told us all the reasons why we didn't want to eat there. She didn't welcome us or ask if we might like a drink in spite of the ridiculously limited menu... nothing. We tried it again in the am for breakfast but after 15 minutes of waiting to see some sign of life we went somewhere else... It would have been a big time saver if we could have had breakfast there. It was cold in the room so we bumped the thermostat to 66 and it went to 85 and stayed there. They did fix that promptly. One of my associates referred to this place as a "motel with makeup"... wouldn't stay there again...

Room Tip: Go somewhere else...

Cold night-we put heat on. The fan didn't work for the heater. When the room
reach our thermostat setting, it clicked off and the whole room shook. When it
went on again - boooooom, the room shook again. When you left the room, there
was a "new automatic setting", room went down to 64 and took an hour to come
back on to heat. Room in good location but needed lots of sleep when we got home.

Room Tip: dont stay in room 107
