Great hotel great room and the bed was quality!! The health Spa was brilliant and the gym was really good and the weight room was also very good. I am an avid gym bod and body-building and i have used gyms across the world and this one was right up there. The food was slightly pricey but of a good standard. The hotel was very smart and very nice overall. I would highly recommend it for a nights getaway or for anything come that. Very nice!

Room Tip: Room 104 was very nice. Its is a ground floor which opens out onto the gardens.

This hotel is well located a couple of miles out of Maidstone so has easy access to the motorway network. It is relatively recently refurbished and is kitted out to a very high standard.

The staff were great on the whole, well trained, friendly and efficient.

The room was well appointed with everything you would expect from this category of hotel and the public areas comfortable and well maintained.

The Conical Restaurant in the hotel was fantastic. The staff were great and the service was untroubled. The menu is pretty varied and quite imaginatively put together. The food itself was wonderful. My rib eye steak was wonderfully cooked and my wife's Lemon Sole was fresh and delicious.

In the morning we used the pool and steam rooms and went off for our buffet breakfast. There was a pretty good selection of cooked and continental style options. We went for a cooked breakfast from the seelf service buffet. This was well executed and very tasty, although the bacon should have been a little crispier rather than just cooked through. (But I guess that's just according to ones personal taste)

There were a couple of aspects that could have been improved upon.

On check in the member of staff on reception pre autohorised an extra £50 on top of the room rate. He didn't tell me what he was doing or why, just presented me with a Chip & Pin machine. Upon questioning, this is just in case you use the minibar or charge any extras to the room. However he should really have explained this properly rather than giving me what was frankly a pretty duff first impression. Irrespective of individual hotel policy, this isn't really right. In many places I have stayed before the hotel gives tyou the option of doing this or something similar however I wasn't given the impression I had the choice. It's possible I suppose that I missed something to this effect in the Hotel T's & C's but this should have been made very clear when making the online booking on the Marriot website to prevent any potential embarrassment.

What I will say though is that the lady who checked us out in the morning (it said Cape Verde on the second line of her name badge) was absolutely wonderful, efficient and genuinely friendly so maybe there is just a training issue with the chap who checked me in.

Wifi: If I want to access Wifi in my room I have to pay an extortionate £15! This really should be complimentary.

The air conditioning in the rooms are retro fitted so you have a A/C unit in the corner that makes a bit of a racket. You can of course turn it off at bedtime but then you don't get the benefit. Not a massive problem but slightly irritiating on the hottest night of the year.

The last few paragraphs sound like a bit of a moan and I suppose they are, however I would not hesitate to stay here again, this is a good comfortable hotel and a great place for a relaxing break.

We stayed at this hotel the other night it was beautiful but be warned you will be asked to pay a £50 deposit for the mini bar which you get back in the morning we did not realised this and we're quite embarrassed as we had to pay part cash part card. The staff we polite but abit cold. We didn't eat at the hotel as breakfast alone was £15.50 (abit pricey in my opinion ) also wifi is a rediculous price . The hotel had amazing views over the golf course and the beds were really comfy. Would definatly come again if we could get a good price on the room again

Stayed on the Sunday night of the Olympics closing ceremony. We had a superior room overlooking the golf course, which was nice but did get warm, despite switching the a/c unit on, they were very obliging in supplying a fan to cool the room down, so no problem. We used the pool, jacuzzi and steam room during the afternoon, the facilities were excellent and although we didn't use the gym it looked really well equipped. We opted to eat relatively early that evening as wanted to watch the ceremony, it seemed that everyone staying chose to do the same, but the service and food were both superb, possibly the best dinner we have eaten at any Marriott, and the quality is usually to a very high standard within the Marriott chain so a bold statement for us to make. The only slight let-down was the maid letting herself in the room at 8.15am, bit strange as were were only staying overnight and this really did seem very early for her to be starting the cleaning, anyway no harm done. We will be back.

Had a private dinner here, and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. It's a lovely modern fresh hotel, with an excellent golf course, spa and restaurant. The rooms are roomy and comfy and you always get a great bed and pillows at a Marriott.
