We stopped in here shortly after this Hardees had opened for business a little over a year or so ago. Back then service was friendly, but still a little green. We had burgers and fries, which were good. We have been back a few times and had good burgers & drive-thru service. The drive thru is pretty convenient & our orders have always been accurate--a plus when it comes to fast food places.
We had never been for breakfast. We usually go to McDonalds for a fast breakfast. However, we decided to visit Hardees the other morning for breakfast since we had coupons that we got in the mail. We had a coupon for a "buy one get one free" sauasge & egg biscuit as well as a coupon for " 2 for $3.00" bacon, egg & cheese biscuits.
Upon arriving, the counter help was rather slow ringing up the customer in front of us. When we did get to the counter, the cashier seemed unfamiliar with the menu. When asked IF we could get cheese on the sausage & egg biscuits IF we paid the up-charge, the cashier initially said NO. He then said he would ask his manager. The manager said it was fine. He also had to ask the manager IF they served HOT tea (for the customer after us). So, I dont know IF that was a new employee OR if this is a common occurance at Hardees.
After paying ($10.62), we were given a number that would be called when our food was up. We were given a cup to get our coffee by the soda machine (coco cola products). Cream & sugar is available in the self serve section. This is great. I loved NOT having to BEG for more cream or sugar packets!
Within a few minutes our food was up. The sausage, egg & cheese biscuits were really good. I think they are better than the competition (McDonalds). The bacon, egg & cheese biscuits were OK, but we think McDonalds wins on this one. The bacon was a little squishy in my opinion. We both LOVED the biscuits that the sandwiches were served on. They advertise that they make them FRESH daily from scratch (not frozen or out of a box). I believe it, since they were so tasty. The hashbrowns were great (also better than McDonalds). They were small tater tot rounds and they were not as greasy as the competition. The orange juice was a boxed Minute Maid. It was a fairly decent size, 16oz. The coffee was really good too. We liked it better than McDonalds too. My husband said it was really good coffee.
Overall, we were pleased with the food. The biscuits are great. I loved the sausage, egg & cheese biscuit. My huband also prefered the sausage over the bacon. We both enjoyed the hashbrowns. Coffee and juice was good. PLUS Burgers and fries have always been good on previous visits. Service was fast, but employee was not familiar with the menu. Dining room was fairly clean. Love that they have a few LARGE Tv's for your entertainment while dining. Love the unique menu items not found at other chains...the sausage gravy & biscuits and the hot ham & cheese. Just wish they had a cinnamon bun like McDonalds does & maybe a fresh fruit cup. Prices are a little higher than some of the other fast food places, but with the coupons we paid about the same. We will visit again--for breakfast, lunch or dinner. We like the breakfast better here now compared to our regular fast food breakfast!
Note: This Hardees is also a Red Burrito. So you can order off either the Hardees menu or the Red Burritio menu.
