“Excellent Cottage”
Reviewed 12 November 2013 for a stay in November 2013

We stayed her for a long weekend & found the cottage really comfortable & cosy.
It's been done out with excellent taste & style. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you may need.
The pub opposite is also really friendly & the food excellent.
A lovely cottage & village

“beautiful cottage”
Reviewed 19 September 2013 for a stay in September 2013

we stayed for a 4 night break and can honestly stay it was a pleasure. the cottage is of a exceptional standard (not the usual holiday let) The village itself is really beautiful with 2 local pubs that both do good value food. The pub across the road welcomed us just like locals. it is very handy for skipton, which has a wonderful market and local shops. many local walks or hikes in the area. easy to get to York for sightseeing. The owners give plenty of local information. The aga in the kitchen takes a little getting use to, but we put some stewing steak and veg in the bottom oven (all from the market) in the morning and came home from a hike to the most wonderful casserole.

all in all highly recommended. we will be back

“Lovely traditional cottage, great location.”
Reviewed 3 September 2013 for a stay in August 2013

Lovejoy Cottage was a great base to stay in Yorkshire. Although Embsay isn't far out of Skipton, the village has retained its character. There are lovely walks nearby and a pub directly opposite. The cottage is furnished with great care and has a very homely feel to it. Although it is advertised as a one bedroom cottage, it was surprisingly large. It is well equipped and there is plenty of information about the local area.

“Comfortable & well placed accommodation for touring”
Reviewed 10 August 2013 for a stay in July 2013

Much of our time was spent in travelling to Huddersfield, Windermere, Preston, so this was a fine base to get to these places.
The accommodation was well kept, clean and well equipped for 2 people. Much thought had been taken to provide for guests (the result of the cottage being the owners home as well).
The kitchen was very warm, due to the ever-hot stove (aga like).
Security of the cottage was very good.
parking was a little way from the cottage but manageable.
The only downsides that we encountered were:
Noise from the Pub opposite, especially during the hot period we encountered , which was slightly off-putting when trying to sleep; (one night the noise abated at midnight!)
Nice as it all was, we felt the place was too 'busy' with ornaments etc (but then we appreciate it is a home as well!)

“Absolutely Fabubous”
Reviewed 16 July 2013 for a stay in July 2013

Immaculate Cottage - very comfortable - en suite bathroom stunning. Very clean and ideal location for touring around. Elm Tree Inn across the road had fantastic food and very friendly staff - we were referred to as locals after the 3rd day.
Only problem was the heat within the cottage - however this only happened because of the heatwave during the period we were on holiday - AGA in the kitchen "spewed" out heat in that it was most oppressive during the night - this is a rare occurance in the UK !!!!!
