I recently stayed here and it was a fantastic time. The front desk staff, to breakfast staff, they all were over the top nice and accommodating, I even met the manager of the hotel. While the weather was not the best while here, which is a bummer being so close to the beach, we got to use the pool and it was amazing. Dewey Beach has a real winner on it's hands here folks. Brandon at the front desk is very knowledgeable about the town and knows a bit about Rehoboth Beach as well. This place will be crazy busy in the summer, so book now as I did because it's going to be the spot to be once the Rudder is open!

Room Tip: I was shown a King and Queen room, and went with the queen (two beds and a pull out bed) My buds and...

Brian A,

Thanks for writing! I do remember speaking with you and thanks for sharing the thoughts you shared in person, here on Tripadvisor. We are thoroughly glad that we were able to help make your stay more enjoyable despite the inclement weather, which we have definitely seen enough of! Thankfully, you were able to take advantage of our amenities like our salt-water pool and enjoy College Basketball's tournament season in our gallery! Glad we had enough pizza on hand! Sorry about those Blue Devils!

We appreciate your favorable comments about our Hyatt Place family! Brandon is an incredibly valuable member of our team and brings a wealth of knowledge about the area and its attractions, and are glad you loved his suggestion of Dogfishead's new restaurant in Rehoboth! You are among the many that help us realize everyday his importance in the work we do!

We hope to see you and the rest of the gang back here soon. Most definitely book for the summer season, we are fortunately filling up fast!

All the best,

The staff was was super friendly and accomadating, especially the breakfast staff. All the food was fresh and delicious and there was good variety to choose from. The room was immaculate and comfortable. The hotel is in a great location and there plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance. We will definitely stay there again !

cdt1208,

Thank you for the kind words! We are very fortunate to be in an area where we can offer our services to those traveling great distances, and short distances alike.

We are very happy that you enjoyed the service provided by our team, especially our breakfast staff who set the bar very high. Patricia, Jaime, and Peggy are three integral members of our team, and your feedback helps motivate all of us to perform at our highest level!

I'm sure you're familiar with the many options that Dewey Beach has to offer in terms of dining and entertainment, even discounts available here at our property through a local restaurant like The Starboard. Be sure to "staycation" with us again, and definitely inquire about The Starboard rate!

Sometimes a short break close to home is just what is needed, and we are glad that we could help you rediscover a local gem like Dewey Beach!

Many thanks,

Christine Strouss

We just got back from a one night stay here, and I am so grateful that it was only one night! We booked this hotel as it was so close to the beach and we were looking forward to staying in a Hyatt. After a long day, we were hungry for dinner but thought we'd check in to the hotel first. The line to check in was not long, but it took a long time for us to finally check in, as there was some issue with the person two in front of us. The front desk staff was not helpful in helping us find a place for dinner - instructing us to check the book in the room even though most of the restaurants in the immediate vicinity were closed for the season. When we got to our room, WE WERE SHOCKED TO FIND THAT WE WERE GIVEN AN INSIDE ROOM OVERLOOKING A PLAIN WHITE SLAB IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HOTEL. This was not what we were expecting in a beach hotel, and the room clearly should have been offered at a discount. As we were so hungry and tired and we had already waited so long to check in, we decided to stay with that room. The room was modern and nicely decorated, but the bathroom door is a sliding door that was almost impossible to open when closed. We are not infirm people so we could get the door open, but this would be a definite problem if you were not relatively strong. Behind the bathroom door, the wall was unfinished, and the bathroom looked like they had stopped working on it before construction was done. The night's sleep was not good as, obviously, we could not open the window, and there was something wrong with the HVAC system, so that while we had the room temperature turned down to 64 to make it cool for sleeping, the room never got lower than 68. Finally, looking forward to breakfast to redeem our stay, we went down to the hot breakfast. The room was not crowded, but they had run out of forks and whatever hot thing was being served with the eggs and sausage. While both the website and the fixed signs in the breakfast area indicated that there was "steel cut oatmeal" the hot cereal of the day was grits, which may or may not make a difference to you. I am only grateful that we stayed here only one night. It was nice to have such a subpar experience at the end of our vacation, as it made it easier to go home.

Room Tip: Ask for an outside room.

NCMurray,

Thank you for taking the time to send us your feedback. We are sincerely disappointed that we did not meet your expectations. Our team's goal is to provide purposeful service to every one of our guests, and take complete ownership of the service we do provide.

The issues you encountered with your bathroom sliding doors being sometimes difficult, HVAC regulation, and applying some fine touches to the bathroom area are being rectified by our team, and we're grateful you were able to bring these matters to our attention. We do regret these inconveniences having been problematic for you and would like you to know that we are doing our best to make sure they won't be a problem in the future.

Thank you for the constructive criticism, and for the chance for our team to be coached and mentored. Your comments are helping us to grow and provide outstanding service to every guest we serve. Hopefully you will give us an opportunity to serve you again in the future!

With Thanks,

The Hyatt Place Dewey Beach was a pleasant surprise. Newly built and moderate in price should be enough, but this hotel is pet friendly and has free hot breakfast (with healthy choices) and wi-fi. We enjoyed long walks on the deserted beach (off season) where there were lots of other dogs enjoying the sand and sea. The walk to Rehobeth Beach was about 2 miles, allowing for plenty of exercise. Many restaurant choices in the area. The only disappointment was the saltwater pool...3 feet at its deepest. Can't understand building a hotel pool only 3 feet deep. Makes lap swimming tough.

Room Tip: Higher is better since the hotel is on a busy road.

I have been a consultant for 11 years and have stayed at many different hotels and chains. This is my first time staying at Hyatt, but it definitely won't be my last! I can't say enough about the hotel staff. They typically have vacationers here on the beach, but they have gone over and above for our group of business travelers. They have accommodated having breakfast out a little earlier so we can get to work early, they not only let us store a bag over the weekend...they have it waiting for us in our room when we get back on Monday! They even have been able to put us in the same room each week when at all possible. That's what I call terrific service! They truly feel like family, and that's really nice when you spend 3 out of 7 nights a week with them! Thanks Hyatt Place Dewey Beach staff!!!! I've been here 3 months already and am looking forward to atleast a few more!

The rooms are very nice with a large flatscreen t.v. on the wall. The staff was very helpful. The free breakfast in the morning was good. Don't waste your time or money on the overpriced mixed drinks at the bar. Overall, the room and service was excellent.

I stay here weekly for business in the area and I will say that I agree with some of the criticisms about the construction flaws (peeling wallpaper, grout smudges). I will also say that myself and my colleagues have noted poor housekeeping from time to time. But, none of that has deterred us from continuing to stay here.

The staff and the way they treat the guests is top notch. Always friendly and willing to help, they make this place a nice home away from home.

Breakfast in the morning is very nice and the breakfast staff is very accommodating to requests.

In conclusion, I would recommend this hotel to most anyone.
