For the price and the fact that they have a full kitchen makes this a really nice stay. Its not the ritz but its comfortable and breakfast in the morning is more than I had expected with hot items and waffles.

Stayed this past weekend, and again a very nice, clean, inviting room. Wanted to stay Saturday night, and because we had all day plans we stopped in at 8 in the morning to sign in, and they let us choose the style room we wanted, and had we chosen a style that was available that early in the morning....they would have let us check in! AT 8 AM! My travel companion and I were tired and parched. Breakfast was going on at that time, and I asked if they would mind if I had a glass of orange juice. The front desk clerk responded that "You are our guest, please help yourself to breakfast". I hadn't even checked in yet! I had stayed here before, but my friend hadn't and I was so anxious to have her experience this quality of treatment, and such a nice room. We had just had a terrible experience from the Super 8 down the road....I will be sure to leave them a review as well....keeping it brief......DON'T EVER STAY AT THE SUPER 8 IN DOVER!!!! Anyway, about the MainStay Suites....give you the quick version, clean, almost a full size fridge, burners, EVEN A SMALL DISHWASHER!!! With all the necessary items you need for cooking/cleaning...besides pans, dishes, etc...also a toaster, paper towels provided, a pitcher, can opener, etc. Bed was clean and crisp. A/C worked well, flat screen TV, pull out sofa, coffee table, plenty of storage area, and a staff obviously well trained in customer service (which unfortunately seems to have diminished in the hospitality industry). I will continue to come back when I am staying in the Dover or beach area. It has always been a pleasure and I have recommended this wonderful hotel many, many times. Looking forward to my next stay!

Double queen room was very spacious and the bathroom was in top condition. Didn't get a chance to use the pool so can't comment there. Breakfast was nice bonus with eggs, sausage, potatoes and waffles along with the other usual fare.

Let me start off by saying I booked this hotel based on the Trip Advisor reviews. The main points everyone makes as far as it being nice and clean, convenient, etc. was all spot on. I'm honestly surprised no one else described what I experienced. It almost makes me thing a lot of these reviews may be fake.

My issue with this hotel was the quality of the housekeeping, which over the course of my group's 11 day stay became a running joke between myself and those in my travel party.

My first night returning to the room I was almost alarmed that someone had slept in the bed after it was made. Upon further inspection, it was just made in the most half assed manner I've ever seen. Please see my attached photos for proof. The accent pillow remained on the floor for the entire rest of my trip and was never picked up by housekeeping and put back on the bed. Over the course of my stay the bed was made slightly neater, but all in all it was sub par compared to what I'd expect staying in a hotel.

Another instance regarded toilet paper. I used the last of the roll, and installed the backup roll which was behind the first in the dispenser. Instead of putting the back-up roll where it belonged, the housekeeper put it right on the edge of the counter so I'd see it and do it myself.

The towels were luckily replaced daily, but they were never replaced in the same manner as when I first arrived. They were usually thrown or piled in a heap, or hung over a rail. The lovely washcloth fans you are accustomed to at hotels were only done the first day I arrived. After that the washcloths were just hung. It was really bizarre. This didn't just apply to bath towels, but also the kitchen towels which were usually just dumped on the counter.

All these complaints I had also voiced to the front desk, of which didn't seem to improve the quality of tidying up the room daily.

There was another instance where some people in my party had left a post-it note for their roommate to help themselves to the beer in the fridge, only to find out housekeeping thought it was for themselves and took it.

Now I do realize that the hotel has their housekeeping policy posted on the fridge, where it notes that the place is only given a detailed go-through on Tuesdays and Fridays. That's all well and good, but the very worst day (the one that looked like someone slept in my bed) was actually on a Friday. Even with that said, I'd expect the toilet paper to be installed so I don't have to do it myself.

Again, the place was clean and it overall was a nice place to stay. All in all my issues were minor, but as a business traveler who has stayed in hundreds of hotels, this by far was the most lazy instance of housekeeping I've ever encountered. After working 13+ hour days during my stay and returning to my room, it did not make me feel as if I was a valued guest.

Room was spacious and very clean, and beds were comfortable. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Wifi was easy to access. There are many restaurants within a short driving distance. Breakfast was good, but coffee was not the greatest.

This is a good place to stay in Dover DE. Hotel staff is nice and helpful. Facilities are clean and comfortable. Breakfast also includes hot waffles, scrambled eggs in addition to breads, cereals etc. Gym is well equipped. There is NO restaurant but fast food places are within a half mile to a mile.

Room Tip: call ahead for type of beds

The staff was very friendly. Rooms were clean and well set up. There is a little kitchen area with large refrigerator, cute little dishwasher, sink and two burn glass top stove. The breakfast was good with a nice variety of food. We stayed for a week as we were in Dover for the International Studebaker Meet at Dover Downs. Location is convenient.
