“Better than expected...Great service & food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 November 2013 credit card Amex Cardmember Review

We had driven past this place several times, this time we decided to stop in. It looked closed but wasn't. We had our choice of seats by the water, a very nice diner.....seafood stew?? not sure what the name was, but it was wonderful. Lots of shrimp, fresh fish, scollops. When we were leaving we realized we need to go into town to get tortillas for the next day( we were camping at Henlopen) so I asked if the had any in the kitchen and if so how much would they charge for a few. They came back with a whole bag..NO CHARGE. That was appreciated...saved us a trip to town. So great dinner, great service....thanks

“Visited the Bar and Band”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 October 2013

You can not miss this restaurant in Lewes, located by the Bridge.
We were walking around the downtown Lewes and heard Band playing, so we decided to stop at the bar and have a beer. Place was half full, lot of people dropping by, some eating. Food looked and smelled good. Only disadvantage was neighboring table group having a dog which puked on the floor. That killed our appetite to have anything to eat that time.
Service was good, except waiter did know what to do with dog and its accident.
The Wharf Bar is one of the few places at Lewes, where we saw some action, younger (working age) generation having good time.

“LOVED it.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 October 2013

Loved the atmosphere. Live music outside was fun. Liked walking along the docks and seeing the boats come in after dinner. Had a big group of 6 adults and 5 kids and the service was excellent. Food was good - crabcake wasn't the best I've ever had but it wasn't the worst either. Oysters were phenomenal! So was the calamari! Overall - had a great experience here.

“7 happy people”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 September 2013

We happened upon this restaurant after spending the morning on the pier at the State Park. We had 2 children and 5 adults and all left full and happy. The owners were very friendly and helpful. It was chilly in the room and they graciously offered to turn off the ceiling fans for us before we even requested this. We had calamari and the crab bruschetta to share....the 5 year old loved the calamari and ate nearly all of it! The crab bruschetta was out of this world! The breas crusts were piled high with crab and tomatoes....took that part home to enjoy later on! Each of us ordered a different sandwich and all left happy! Definitely will return here next time we are in Lewes!

“Food was overpriced, outdoor table loaded with flies, service stunk”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 September 2013

There were 4 adults and 2 small children in our party. When we arrived, the young female greeter seemed like she was in a daze. She couldn't decide where to put us, even though there were not that many people there. Finally, she asked whether we wanted to sit outside. We asked if there were many bugs, and she said she hasn't seen any, so we went outside. She seated us at a table near the boat, which had about one dozen people sitting on benches waiting for the evening cruise. They were very noisy. We ordered 3 adult dinners, and two small child entries. We also ordered 2 appetizers to share among the 4 adults, and 2 deserts. The food came and so did the flies-tons of them. Also, we were not told that they automatically added 18% tip to our bill. The bill came to almost $140.00. It wasn't worth it, by any means. The food was about the equivalent of what you would get at a cheap diner. Don't go there unless you want to be ripped off, and have to put up with flies on top of that. We'll never go there again. The worst restaurant we have ever been to here in Delaware. We are locals.
