I stayed at the property for 1 night after visiting Longwood Gardens. The Inn is very charming. The lobby/lodge is nicely decorated and has an area where you can have cocktails/wine at night or read the paper in the morning. There is a small work out room with a treadmill, elliptical and a few other machines and weights. If you want to eat, Krazy Kats is the restaurant on-site. The food was tasty enough for 1night (i.e. I would not make a special trip back just to visit the restaurant). I had booked the room just prior to my visit. The room was in excellent shape and was nicely decorated. The bathroom was also in fine shape. My 2 hesitations in staying at the property again would be 1) the bed and 2) the noise from guests overhead. If I returned, I would only go back if I could book an upstairs room. We could hear the loud footsteps, voices and squeaky beds of the guests above us. The bed (queen size) was much to soft for us and not very comfortable. Otherwise, the Inn was very nice!

Incredible setting - rolling hills - walkways - seperate cottages along a stone walkway. The clubhouse was spectacular - like a ski lodge.

Room had heated towels - candy on the pillows - great large shower.

Well equipped exercise room.

Restaurant staff was a bit untrained - and basically teenage rude - but food was good and setting very nice.

Cocktail hour was a disappointment with one type of spread - dryed out and same each night. But really not worth considering based on the rest of the experience.

We booked a one night stay in one of their Superior Suites for our Anniversary. We prefer to stay at small luxury hotels whenever we go on vacation and we were not disappointed with our stay here. We stayed in the Jefferson room which was located in one of the old buildings on Privy Lane. Privy Lane is a quaint little alleyway with beautiful gardens surrounding each of the buildings. Our suite had it's own private entrance that had a small hidden porch with two wicker rocking chairs. Leading up to the entrance were beautiful gardens on both sides of the walkway. The suite was tastefully decorated and had all of the amenities you come to expect from a small luxury hotel. The bathroom was done in marble and had a two person shower and a two person jacuzzi tub. We also made a reservation for dinner at the restaurant that's located on the property. Both the service and the food were excellent. The restaurant was only a one-minute walk from our room which was nice (we liked that we didn't have to get in the car and drive somewhere for dinner). The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and they also provide room service which is great. Everyone we interacted with was very cordial. We would defintely stay here again.

We stayed at the Inn in August 2006 for 3 nights, primarliy because of its proximity to the DuPont gardens (which are magnificent!!). Our room was delightful with small sitting area, kitchenette, king bed, oversized bathroom. Contrary to other reviews, our welome at reception was excellent - perhaps the management has been reading TA! - & the accommodation was very clean.
However we had a real problem with the onsite restaurant, Krazy Katz. which unless you are prepared to travel some miles, is the only realistic option in the area. We ate dinner there on one evening (one was enough!) & because we were on a 'package', our breakfasts were included in the room rate. On all occasions the service in the restaurant was exceptionally dismal to the extent that when we had waited 30mins for cereal, fruit & toast one morning I complained loudly to the maitre'd (with little improvement I might add). The dinner service was no better - the waiting-on staff seem to have memory problems in delivering the orders correctly, the kitchen seems to be badly organised with timing etc. Surprisingly when we ordered room service one evening it arrived prior to the estimated time, hot & a correct order. Although there is a reasonable choice on the menu, the standard of culinary expertise is very average & there is no choice of cereal at breakfast - if you don't like Special K don't go.

we had booked into the Inn for three nights; arriving late in the evening after a 4 hour drive. To our dismay, when we were shown our room it had a musty smell and the chair in the bedroom was visibly worn. We read that the Inn had a multi million dollar upgrade which was NOT evident in the bedroom; the bedroom was stark and cheaply furnished. The TV was the smallest I have every seen (postage stamp size); the bathroom, however, was of the 21st century - obviously all the money and attention were placed on the bathrooms - but just how much time can one spend in a bathroom!!!!!!! The bedroom was smaller than the bathroom!!!! We opened both windows upon arrival to try to eliminate the odor to find that the room faced a road and any car travelling the road resonated in the room!!!!!
Needless to say, opening the window did not eliminate the musty smell as it is probably just part of the building so even though it was very late in the evening we told the night attendant that we would be unable to stay due to the smell, the condition of the bedroom, the location of the room, and the bed was of inferior quality!!!!!! After a 4 hour drive we opted to get back in the car and drive to Philadelphia!!!!!!
