Last summer, the summer of 2006, my family and I spent a week in beautiful Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. My two cousins, my sister and I would go down to the boardwalk or the beach almost every day. The boardwalk was amazing! We would stroll down it, taking in the smell of the Thrasher's Boardwalk Fries, hearing the huge, blue waves crash, and seeing the all the people participating in the many activities that Rehoboth Beach's Boardwalk has to offer.
You can go to Funland, a popular arcade that has some rides and games.
Or you can eat at any of the fabulous restaurants, like Jake's Seafood House or Claws Crab House. Both have impeccable seafood and great atmospheres.
Another thing to do is get some "retail therapy" by visiting some of the cute shops that sell clothing like tee-shirts, sweatpants, hats, etc.
If you need something sweet to eat, stop by any of the ice cream shops along the boardwalk. There is a Cold Stone Creamery, a Ben and Jerry's, and a Dippin' Dots.
Or, if the intense heat (if you vacation during the summer) gets to you, take a dip in the cool ocean. The beach is good for families, with extremely soft sand that is great for building sandcastles, so bring your buckets and shovels! Also, the beach goes all the way up to the boardwalk, so you can hit the beach, then throw on your shorts and flipflops and walk the boardwalk. The only downside is that sometimes, there are jellyfish and pretty rough waves. But other than that, the beach was a great experience.
All in all, Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, especially its boardwalk, is a great spot to spend a vacation, especially during the summer. I would definitely reccomend it to families, couples, and college kids, or anyone else who wants to have some fun in the sun. I give Rehoboth Beach and its boardwalk five stars!
