There are so many wonderful restaurants to choose from in Rehoboth Beach. I recommend you try them all. My favorites include: Croissants from Café Papillon, Sticky buns from The Pointe, baked goat cheese salad with Chicken at Summer House, The beer at Dogfish, Vegetarian from Hobos, Pizza from Nicola or Grotto, Fried Plantains at Mariachi, Coffee from Café a GoGo, Ice Cream at Royal Treat...plus so many more places for you to seek out and try.

I love the set up of this boardwalk especially the avenue with so many shops, eateries, ice cream, coffee anything you wanted was there! The travel was very easy from Dewewy Beach,we just hopped on the Jolly Trolley for 10 bucks round trip and no worries of parking.I would definitely stay here next time!!!!

We decided to check out the Atlantic Ocean and the closest to DC is Rehoboth Beach. We left last Sunday at 6:15am and arrived at around 8:30am. We were so happy we arrived early, since we were able to find an awesome parking spot really close to the beach. Parking was free until ten and then we paid $3 for two more hours until noon. Being there early gave us the beach to ourselves. Other people started to show up around 9:30 and then it got full fast.
Bathrooms were clean and have many stalls. The beach was very clean and a beautiful sandy beach. There are Lifeguards, but they don't start until 10.
The boardwalk is good too. A lot of boutiques and restaurants to choose from, but of course really pricey.
Some tips especially for people with children:
- get there by 8-8:30 to get an awesome parking spot and to enjoy the beach to yourselves
- pack a picnic lunch to save money on eating out, it is very pricey. Or there is a subway, that's what we did.
- make sure to bring lots of quarters, meters only take quarters.
- strollers will not work on this sandy beach.
- bring life vests if your children are not very good swimmers. The big waves can really pull a child in. The waves can get high to about 4 feet.
- there is a no change policy, ridiculous (that's why this beach lost a star) but there are showers to get sand off at entrance pathways of the beach.
- if you order a bucket of French fries, like we did, they don't give nor have ketchup! Only vinegar! It's a silly tip, but I though it was funny ;)
- and to the drivers, on my google map from DC it said to take hwy 16 (Scott's Store Rd.) DO NOT take that route, there are two other options you can take. Hwy 16 has many village town roads, lights and it's one lane traffic each way. It was ok driving there, but going home was terrible. The only thing good about it was stopping at a fruit stand to buy watermelon, which by the way tasted amazing! Stop if you see one on the way to beach, it is well worth it.

Overall, this beach was a great family getaway. Being there early was the best way for us to experience it as a family. If we had more time and had a hotel close by we would have stayed longer to check out the rides on the boardwalk and go to the beach again.

We enjoy the beach and take advantage of the umbrellas for rent. The town keeps the beaches very clean and provides plenty of trash cans. My only complaint is the lack of beach etiquette by other beach visitors.

We had great weather. Waves were a little rough the day we went, but I picked a spot near the lifeguard and my 11 year old had a great time. Friendly people. Clean beach. Wash areas off the boardwalk to get the sand off.
