I have been to several B&B's over the years so I have had some experience with this type of accomodation. I will break my review into the different aspects of our stay at Canalside Inn. I stayed with a friend for 4 nights during July 2014.

Hosts- I am not sure why some people write bad reviews regarding the hosts. We found them to be OK. Not overly friendly but not rude either. We got a chuckle out of the fact that the three different hosts we met throughout our stay never offered their name to us! LOL

Breakfast- The Canalside has a really nice, new, modern breakfast/lounge are in the basement of the Inn. The offerings were typical of a continental breakfast at a hotel; bagels, muffins, danish, yogurt, fruit cup, cereal, coffee, tea, juice. We had wished they would offer some fresh fruit each morning.

Location- We really liked the location of this place. It was off the main drag yet convenient to shops, restaurants, etc. The beach was a hike so we drove or biked in each day. It was a nice quiet street.

Accomodations- There is plenty of parking at the Inn. They also offer free bikes to use during your stay and we took advantage of taking them to the beach each day as parking in Rehoboth can be a pain and costly too! We also used the pool and hot tub a couple of days though we were shocked at how small the pool was! It is amazing how a photo can make something look bigger than it is! ;-) The pool is the size of a large hot tub, lol. The whole Inn was modern, clean, and looked recently remodeled.

Room- We stayed in Room #9 which is located on the second floor overlooking the pool. It was a very nice room - clean and modern! It had a comfy king bed and small bathroom. The room was cleaned and restocked each day. One small recommendation we have is to rip up the carpet and lay wood floors in the rooms. The carpet had some stains on it and we think wood floors are easier to maintain and classier at nice inns such as the Canalside.

Price- We paid about $180/night for the room and feel that was a fair price for amenities we received. We stayed during peak season, July.

Gay owned- Canalside Inn is gay owned/operated which is one of the main reasons we chose it.

Recommendation- We would definitely recommend Canalside Inn to future travelers to Rehoboth and would consider staying her again if we come back to the are.

Room Tip: Rooms in the front get a hidden canal view with the trees. Rooms in the back overlook the pool and...

We've been to the Canalside Inn several times. It's in a quiet spot and the rooms are nice. Good size rooms, but the shower is very narrow. The front desk guy needs an attitude adjustment. He either hates his life, or hates his job? For such a nice place it's a shame to ruin a vacationers time with the unfriendly vive. Never a smile, or a friendly word. BUT... We had a good time anyway! Pool was good. Wonderfully decorated. Nice porch to sit and watch the rain.

We stayed here for two nights and loved that this was not the run of the mill hotel. It is very clean and decorated nicely. Its more along the lines of a bed and breakfast in that it provides a continental breakfast and it has just a small amour of rooms. The rates are reasonable and you can walk to most all of the downtown Rehoboth restaurants and shops. Great location ! It is a nice, relaxing spot. The only things that could be better is the coffee.

We just spent a weekend the end of February at the Canal Side Inn. This is probably about our 10th time here. We just love it. It is in a relaxed area of Rehoboth Beach but yet only a two blocks off the main drag. The rooms are decorated beautifully and are a nice size. They have a wonderful continental breakfast in the morning. We plan on many more trips there. Best of all we can take our little doggie. The owners were away the weekend we were there but the man taking care of things for them was absolutely wonderful. His name was Walt. Thanks again for another lovely stay. Bonnie & Tom Watkins

Beautiful rooms and great location. Horrible, horrible front desk service. We have stayed several times and just wished We weren't made to feel like I was annoying the man who runs the front desk. He hates his job!!! Really too bad because his partner is pretty nice. Unfortunately he can continue behaving poorly because we keep coming back because we can bring our dogs. Otherwise, We would not step foot back in that establishment.

What a lovely place to stay that stands unique in it's presentation from the many chain hotels. Room decorated charmingly- entire location unique and tasteful. The artwork was delightful and refreshing throughout. Staff was excellent.

I've been coming to Rehoboth for years 3 times a year. I've been staying at the Canalside inn for the last 3 years. I've stayed in many other hotels/motels/BB's but this is BY FAR the BEST in Rehoboth. The owners are always great and welcoming. The rooms are always clean and up to date. I wouldn't stay in another place again. It is in a great location. Once you park your car you don't need to drive it again as long as you enjoy walking and the great out doors. I look forward to our trips evey year!!!
