Trevi is a good spot when you don't want fast food and prefer a nicer sit-down option in town. Quality food with an eclectic atmosphere. Service is a little scattered but still very friendly. On our most recent visit we had calzones, fish dishes, & gnocchi. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Portion size is very generous for the price.

We have eaten here five times now, and have enjoyed every meal, which is why I am perplexed at some of the negative reviews. We found the food to be delicious. This tastes like real Italian food, not something that you get at some "garden" chain that comes prepackaged and is nuked before serving.

The pizzas are some of the best around, especially the Frank Sinatra, which has Prosciutto, sweet sausage, broccoli rabe, tomato sauce & mozzarella cheese on it, and my personal favorite, the Monte Bello, which is made with roasted eggplant, artichoke hearts, roasted peppers, tomato sauce, mozzarella & provolone cheese and fresh basil. Yes, the basil was fresh leaves, not dried.

One of our favorites here is the eggplant parmigiana. Nicely sliced eggplant, just the right thickness so it is cooked throughout and not chewy. The waitress has always been accommodating when asking for a vegetable on the side instead of pasta.

Some of the appetizers are particularly successful, including one that is sweet Italian sausage with broccoli raab, and they also make a very good antipasto with a decent assortment of meat and cheeses. We have also enjoyed the fried calamari, but it is not their most successful dish, in my opinion, as it tastes like fried calamari from any other restaurant.

We brought a friend here one time, and the soup of the day was a crab bisque. This was made with real crab. How do we know? There were a couple of pieces of crab shell in it. When we brought it to the attention of the waitress, she brought the the owner over, who apologized, brought her a new cup of soup, and took it off her bill. Now, that is an owner that cares about his customers, and earned our repeat business.

We love the fresh baked bread and dipping oil that is brought to your table. The only thing I am not crazy about here is the tomato sauce. To me, it is a bit on the thin and bitter side. Either it needs more substance or some sugar to reduce the bitterness, or both.

We found the waitstaff to be attentive, and the restaurant to be very clean. We did not find everything "dusty" as some had complained. We loved the decor of the restaurant, with the fountain and plants in the middle. It made us feel like we could be sitting in a plaza in Italy somewhere.

In a state filled with chain restaurants, all of which have the same bland, tasteless food, we are happy that we found Trevi.

We have gone here for years since they opened and have never had a bad experience. The owner Ernesto (Ernie) is always happy to welcome you and if your a regular he'll say hi and know your first name like he does with us even when we haven't been there for awhile. I recommend Trevi to all my friends often. The menu is great and always changing and the prices are very good for what you get which is a top notch authentic Italian food. The brick oven pizza is also very special.

There are a lot of Italian type restaurants in the Dover and Smyrna area but one that really stands out is Trevi Restaurant. Great selection of homemade foods, non acidic tomato sauce, outstanding wait staff. It is a pleasure to eat here.

I had the Veal Piccata, with accompanying delicious pasta. The bread should have been served warm, however. The alcoholic drinks are ample sized. My wife had scallops scampi--delicious.
Give it a try.

Had a large, 26 guest, family gathering here. They offered us a smaller, selected by me, menu which was great to rein in costs. Service people were wonderful. Guests exclaimed over the food, service and pace of the meal. Will be back when I am in the area. Portions very generous, most left with a box.
