“Small, historical theater”
Review of Grand Opera House

We frequently attend shows there. There is almost no bad seat because of the small size of the theater, but it does feel grand due to the architecture. The last time we attended, however, we froze through the whole show, which we were told was due to a new and "improved" air system. Hope they figure that out soon!

Nice old theater, historic building. Seeing a show there is great, no bad seats, good sound, they have a big come-on for joining the theater club and buying packages of tickets. The building also serves as the Grand Lodge of Freemasons in DE, and the upstairs floors are used for that purpose.

I love the Grand Opera House. I am not an acoustics expert but the performance was excellent and I loved every second of it. I would recommend. They offer children's prices and I find the rates to be fairly priced.

The facility had been completely refurbished to its original 19th century grandeur. Having been built to host top entertainers and performances before electricity (speakers, microphones) the Grand still relies on the original perfect acoustics with enhancement now via modern lights and speakers. The last row or the balcony allows for perfect sound as if one were seated on the main floor. The prices are far more reasonable for name acts which often may be in nearby Philadelphia for double the price. Located in downtown Wilmington, parking and pre and post theatre eating options are plentiful.
