I ordered take out, but from what I gathered the atmosphere was very nice and modern. The tortellini crab was very good, but for $18, I expected more than 8 medium-sized tortellinis and three pieces of dry bread. I would visit again, but dine in instead.

There are not many places to have dinner in Wilmington downtown and Cafe Mezzanote was surprisingly good. The decor has nothing special, not particularly welcoming but as room fills up it becomes warmer and enjoyable. Food is good, italian style, well prepared and service is friendly and efficient.

This is a nice restaurant to enjoy a leisurely lunch before a matinee at the DuPont theatre. We had reservations and were seated immediately. The atmosphere is just OK, nothing special. Our wait staff was efficient but not very friendly. The mixed green salad is good but large so we were glad that 2 of us shared an order to go w/our crepes. The crepes stuffed w/ground chicken, spinach, ricotta, mozzarella in Blush sauce were excellent! There are 3 crepes in the serving. The Lunch Combo is a good option price & portion wise. In this option the Tortellini & Meatball soup was OK & the 1/2 grilled chicken Panini was fine. Usually before the theatre matinee there is a special 2 course fixed price option. Two of our ladies chose this option; however, the salad and full Panini w/chips was just too much food for lunch. So I would not recommend this option unless you have a large appetite. The chips are delicious!
If you have coupons or want to use the 15% AAA discount (not valid on specials) make sure you get this straight w/the wait staff when you order.

The wait staff was extremely attentive. The service was fast. Appetizers, soup, salad, entrée and desert offerings were excellent. Generous portions. Hot food was hot. Deserts made in house were perfect. Atmosphere quiet with "real" music. Outdoor dining available, however chose inside. First time there, will return. Live locally. The prices for lunch are not bad at all. Dinners priced higher, however not out of line wit other local upscale eateries. Parking across the street. We provide a 5 Star recommendation.

Wow. Hard to believe this place wanted to be on Restauarant Week. To promote what? Saturday night - nearly empty. Two waiters for six tables of patrons and they can't keep up with the service. Be prepared to wait. Food is very 1985. Heavy. Laden with sauce. Overcooked. All above not to be topped by dessert. Marscapone cream (aka cannoli filling) in a glass. Tasted liked dried out school glue, but with the glue, you'd already have low expectations. Lowest possible rating. Zero stars, if that is possible.
