Very weird hotel. Definitely needs redecoration. Small.
Bathroom is of rather poor quality. No minibar in the room. Breakfast, well. There is no restaurant of anything - just a place when you can buy food. It looks like a countrer in a coffe shop.
Generally, speaking it was not bad but far away from the Europen standards.
Considering that all hotels in Wilmington, DE look like that there is no choice ;p

We stayed at the hotel because we were meeting other family members at the train station and it was very close. The hotel was clean, staff very accommodating (we arrived early and were able to check in around noon), and location was perfect. Only downside, our room had a "view" of a brick wall (the parking garage I believe) and so it was very dark. We were only there for an overnight, so it didn't bother me so much, but I would definitely mention that you wouldn't want a corner room that backs up to parking garage. My son's room had a "normal" view. Another plus - parking in the adjacent garage is free on Friday and Saturday.

Room Tip: Request a room other than corner rooms that back up to garage

Stayed two nights, comfortable room, tasty & prompt breakfast. Tyler at the front desk was especially helpful in advising evening entertainment - Wilmington Blue Rocks baseball.

I was looking for a hotel between Philadelphia and Baltimore for a one night stay. I picked downtown Wilmington because I thought it might be interesting. Not so much. Kind of a dead town at night. The Courtyard by Marriott is a nice hotel that tries to do the most with what they have to work with but due to their location almost all of their rooms look across an alleyway into a wall....not very picturesque. Their parking situation is also not very convenient. You have to park a block away at a garage that is not connected physically to the hotel. On the plus side their staff was very, very nice. We arrived downstairs at 10:30 am to find that breakfast had ended at 10:00 am. The person behind the counter could not have been more nice. He couldn't cook anything but he did toast us some bagels and sell us some pastries. (Seriously they should revise that time frame on weekends because two other parties came after us and also wanted breakfast.)

The rooms were clean and well maintained. Internet is free. The exercise room machines each had their own television screen. The rooms had a microwave and refrigerator - a bonus to those on longer stays. The staff was friendly and efficient. We could not have asked for more.
