“Fantastic Place!”
Reviewed 4 January 2014

We continue to return as members. Fun to see the gardens in all seasons. Tours vary as well as exhibits but this is a wonderful point as one never tires of a visit to Winterthur!!! We have just enjoyed our first Yuletide and it was most enjoyable as well as impressive!Several different rooms shown for this tour which made it most interesting! My husband's breath taken away when we stepped off elevator as that dining area had been so stunningly transformed since our last visit! Go and enjoy so much to see and learn!

“Americana Beyond Expectations”
Reviewed 3 January 2014

We took a private 2 hour tour of the house and visited most floors looking at the collections and furniture in detail. Each room is amazing. It is a fabulous tribute to Americana and gives one a new appreciation to our artisans and tradesmen. Each collection is amazing unto itself. I have taken the Yuletide Tour in the past which is also wonderful. The private tour and house exceeded my expectations and was the highlight of our trip.

“Outstanding Americana furnishings and gardens”
Reviewed 1 January 2014

Winterthur, the former home of Francis DuPont is a treasure. The grounds and four season gardens are beautiful and substantial and the large home converted into a museum contains a number of rooms that were moved intact from other residences. The furnishings are of museum quality. I highly recommend booking in advance a private tour since the guides are extremely knowledgeable and will take you to areas of the house where access otherwise is not available. The tram tour of the estate and its gardens is also first rate as is the extensive gift shop.

“Gorgeous venue for engagement”
Reviewed 29 December 2013

I was engaged here in August 2013 and it was beyond romantic and beautiful. Walking the grounds of this historic property was serene, with many places to sit and relax and enjoy the scenery. I loved the reflecting pool and the koi pond.

“Beautiful Christmas experience”
Reviewed 28 December 2013

The entire property is beautifully decorated for the holidays. From the time you pull through the gates, to you enter the visitor center, you are surrounded by beauty. I love the tram ride from the center to the house. The book store area has a nice selection of both books and gifts. After you visit the house, make sure you stop in the gift store. Most places just have little gift shops but here there is an entire building to visit and explore.
