“A must see for beach goers, snorkellers etc...”
Reviewed 10 July 2014

Beautiful park! Two very nice beaches! The one of the left has less to see, but is deeper water and bigger beach, worth a visit! The smaller beach on the right is absolutely beautiful! We have snorkelled here many times and seen loads of crabs, fish and rays, and we know it is near a shark spot, which we are yet to have found unfortunately.

Great park, amazing beach, amazing waters, loads of wildllife! Definitely worth going to!

“Beautiful !!”
Reviewed 9 July 2014

My husband and I went here while on our honeymoon. While the beaches aren't big it is so beautiful it didn't matter. The water was gorgeous and the walk up the old bridge is a nice short walk with breathtaking views!

“my favorite beach in florida”
Reviewed 9 July 2014

went for the 4th of July weekend, sad to say that the beach was full of seaweed, we walked around for a bit, i know that alot of people were angry about the seaweed, but believe me all the beaches around the keys had the same fate!!, this is my favorite hangout when at the keys, and i will return very soon and hope the sea will carry the problem away. the place is beautiful and the the water is crystal clear and the sand ls almost white. i highly recomend this beatiful place!! staff wonderful and friendly!!! call to find out if the seaweed is gone and give this great beach a chance! (the pictures are from about 3 weeks before).

“Nice view”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

You pay 3$ per person to enter the park and receive a map. We expected a wonderful beach, but the beach was full of see weeds. It's nice to see the old bridge.

“Excellent snorkeling trip!”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

We joined Capt. PT for the second consecutive year for an awesome day on the Looe Reef. He and mate Jody led us on a safe, beautiful, and educational tour. You can't beat the price (coupons are also available in the FL Keys Guide) at 29.95 for adults and 24.95 for minors. They provide iced coolers to store your beverages and take you out to the reef on an immaculate boat. Your safety is paramount and they keep a close eye on all their snorklers. Capt PT will give you the background history on the area and answer all your questions about the sea life below the surface. We saw black tip sharks, tarpon, barracuda, and schools of brightly colored fish. We even saw a mama dolphin and her calf on the way back in to port. Afterward we took our picnic lunch to the tables by the beach area and enjoyed our ocean view. Yes, the seaweed can build up here, depending on the season/weather, but it is still lovely. The Florida Keys are NOT the place for rich sandy beaches; it is a place to get out on the water and appreciate all that lives below. Great expedition for couples, families, seniors and young kids over 7 years old (or who are good swimmers). Friendly guides, lovely gift and provisions shop, adequate beaches, great campground and pavilion areas, clean restrooms and showers/changing areas. DON'T MISS IT if you are on your way to Key West or staying closeby in Marathon or Big Pine.
